Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

“A Dying Cubs Fan’s Last Request” by Steve Goodman
And, just ‘cause I’m on a total Hot Rize kick...”A Voice on the Wind”.
Though I’m probably the only Hot Rize fan here. ;-)
But in case anyone wondered, I figured out that Colleen Malone is played out of C position, capoed at the fourth fret. And almost have the chords worked out.
Ain’t ya glad I’m *not* posting all my guitar obsessiveness here?
I don’t make fun of those with music talent, since I have none myself.
Which, of course, must be followed by "Walking The Floor Over You" - Ernest Tubbs
"Smoke From A Distant Fire" - Sanford Townsend
Bonnie Raitt - "No Business"
"Take Five" - Dave Brubeck
Yep...it has nothing to do with me. I can’t afford pro tickets and don’t like pro basketball (I think it’s all rigged.)
I intend to go to a lot of our Tulsa 66er’s games though...they’re a demonstration team (is that what you call it? Semi-pro.) and they play at the new arena just a couple of miles or so from my house...8 bucks a ticket.
I love basketball. I like hockey too.
Gettin’ ready to hit the road here. Hopefully before 9. Driving all the way to Pittsburgh today and we’ll be back Monday.
Safe travels!
You’re going to spam from 50 posts out?
I thought it was 2999!!!!
My glasses must be dirty!!!!
I ended up using Blue Dot in the 9mm. I forget the grains but it was a 102% or so load by volume. So it was darn near to the top.
It was about 8 grains
Hey, you know what? The car shop where I take Oz to get it’s oil changed is offering a Ladies Day...free manicures and massages! Free food! They even wash your car for you...all for $19.99.
I’m going on the 12th.
Gringo Honeymoon. Can’t remember the guy’s name that sings it right off the top of my head.
OK, I'm going to get up on a soapbox for a second here. And this isn't really aimed right at you. It's just a pet peeve.
I realize that when people say things like that, they're often trying to pay a compliment. But honestly, with the exception of a very small handful of undeniably naturally gifted people, music is about 5% talent and 95% hard work. Almost anyone could play an instrument *if* they were willing to start from the very beginning (when I started with guitar, I couldn't play any notes without buzzing, didn't know how to hold the thing, didn't know how to accurately hit any one string in particular, etc.) and work at it every day for years. Yes, there are a very few naturally tone-deaf people (probably in about the same numbers as the naturally musically gifted), but only a very few. I've known someone, for example, for whom you could hum three completely different notes, and they wouldn't be able to differentiate between the three. But that's very rare. Anyone that can appreciate music in recorded form or hum along with the radio *could* play an instrument. They'd just have to work at it. And for most people, that's just not a priority. Which is fine.
But to just attribute musical ability to "talent" is kind of an insult, in my mind. It discounts the work involved. I know people mean well when they make comments like that, but it bothers me. < /soapbox>
Happy birthday, you two!
