The Hobbit Hole XXXVI - O! Water cold we may pour at need...

Posted on 05/03/2008 8:48:06 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

She does seem very personable! And curious, as a kitten should be. ;-)

Yup, we were able to harvest some last week. And, I have some volunteer basil plants from seeds produced by last year’s basil. Didn’t get the soil turned up ‘cause the spring was so wet, and discovered the new basil earlier this week.

I planted some lemon basil and “Siam Queen” basil too. They smell great but I’ll have to see what I can do with them. I’ve got one “Purple Ruffles” left...apparently some varmint likes to munch on it.

That’s a fine list. I don’t think I’d take any off it.

Hmmm... Some thoughts of personal favs to add:

AC/DC - Back in Black
Journey - Lights
REO Speedwagon - Can’t fight this feeling.
AC/DC - Rock and Roll ain’t noise pollution.
Maynard Furguson - Birdland
Stan Kenton - Take the “A” train. Def Leppard - Pyromania
Enya - May it be.
Journey - Open arms
Pink Floyd - Learning to fly.
Pink Floyd - Wish you were here
Frank Sinatra - New York New York
Frank Sinatra - Summertime.
Celtic Woman - Orinoco Flow

In no particular order.

Gads... Now I’m thinking up all sorts of stuff. :-).
