Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
That’s what NewsGuy said.
We had some bad lightening about 45 minutes ago. Since then, just rain.
sirens off here, appears to be a mite north of us, so far...
A plink of hail every now and then...
Watching the fuel tank fire now. I knew I shoulda fueled up this morning!
We got quite a lightening show, LSA got greycat off the front porch and put him downstairs.
Tank is reported to contain jet fuel, so unless you’re flying, you’ll be okay.
I'm flying tomorrow, but I'm going out of Boston, so I don't think it will be a problem. Heading down to MS for my annual Girl Cousin reunion! WooHoo! We're flying into New Orleans, but gotta take a detour up to my hometown to take Joseph to the Preview Day for new Freshmen at Southern Miss. When we're done, I'll drive him back to N.O. to stay with my niece so she can take him back to the airport on Friday. After I drop him off at her place on Thursday night, I'm going reunioning!
Well, y’all have a great trip, have some chicory coffee and beignuts for us.
If I can't trust her with a salmon, how can I trust her with a kitten?
Don’t know about the beignets, but I’m sure my niece will have some strong coffee for me, so I can have some before I hit the road for my sister’s house.
Heh. The dork I was listening to right after it happened said it was unleaded.
I got a little over 3.5 inches of rain last night.
Maybe if you take some kittens off her hands, a salmon will follow.
WTH was he doin’ with a $400 cell phone?
yer just beggin’ fer an aneurism...
hey, thanks for the pic... it was a good visit...
pity there was no trigger time...
Yeah, too bad it had to be a short visit. It was great seeing your family again though. Amazing how much they’ve grown since the first time I met them.
We got her! We got the momma cat!
She doesn't look any more pleased with me than the last time I saw her that close. Poor thing.
So I'll be taking her in to the clinic this morning. I may look into the vouchers the humane society has for spaying them even more cheaply, because I think there may be another coming.
This wasn't the first cat we trapped. Early in the evening, we caught her sister. If you recall, there were the two sisters all along, and I always saw them together, but hadn't seen Sister 1 since the kittens came about. While I was pleased to see she was still around. I was a bit perplexed what to do with her, because when we looked close at her, she's also bagged up as if she's nursing a litter somewhere. (sigh)
Well, I didn't want to make her abandon those kittens to starve, wherever they are, so we let her go, but I immediately regretted it, wondering if we'd ever catch her again, and when exactly the right time would be to catch her again, if not now. Perhaps the kittens would survive her being gone just a couple days. I didn't know. But I wasn't prepared to catch two, I wanted the momma of this set of kittens. I was pleased to see that she was REALLY hungry and went immediately to the food we have on the porch, so she didn't just run off, she hasn't given up on us, we may be able to get her again.
I was pleased, at least, when I woke up, to see we had gotten our target cat, who is now in the back of the Ranger in the cage, feeling pretty surly.
No kidding. Need to have another shootmoot down there. We have a lot more toys than last time :-D We are honing our handgunning skills for tests but one of these days it will be time to get serious with the riflemanship.
She’s cute...mad...but cute.....I along with others feed strays that live behind Wachovia Bank in Clinton NJ and they are fat, healthy and happy....I would love to take them in, but I can only have 2 cats where I live.....
LOL, nice!
Good things looks don’t kill or you would need a new camera.
Yeah - I’ve been feeding these for some time, and this one had a litter of 4 kittens in my barn a few weeks ago. I’ve now got her kittens in the house, and they’re happy and healthy there. I hope I can get to some level of peace with their mother after all this. She may decide she’s had it with me, but at least she won’t be having more kittens.
Poor mama cat. You stole her babies and now you won’t let her have any more.
