You know y’all make me miss calligraphy, but no time for that right now. Maybe when I get my studio set up in the garage.
Of course yesterday at the meeting I was trying to say something across the room to a co-worker and I signed “I think we’ll be fine” without even thinking what I was doing.
Then I thought, “I really never should have let that go...”
BTW Rosie, don’t feel bad about not getting an invite. This has caused me endless grief. The only consolation is that I’m not (by far) the only one this has happened to.
Ouch, poor guy.
I’ve always heard that lizard tastes like chicken.
You guys should do a blind taste-test.
"Butters" says... "You can't even see me here... I'm catouflaged."
The little black one walked around most of the time doing her "I was born to be a Halloween Cat!" impression.
Kittens in buckets.
I love how this one's ears tip forward.
Just innocent Butters... such a sweet face.
We put the dogs outside for this... it just would have upset Gidget too much to have them running around.
Sooo darned cute!
I think you guys are gonna hafta keep Butters. Poor innocent little guy...
The little black one’s little stubby face still reminds me of Halvah. She should have a candy name like Halvah. Like Licorice or something...
And the little tiger in the bucket...looks like he’s saying, “Yeah, I know, I *am* gorgeous, aren’t I?”
Hey...I wonder if Bass Pro Shop might have them? They have all kinds of camping gear. Next time I’m in Broken Arrow I’ll check! Probably be Tuesday when I take Matthew to his last Latin class.
This black ink, man...it’s some kind of series black. The definition of black.
He didn’t have to get one! I couldn’t remember when he got his last one...they looked it up and it was less than 10 years ago, so he’s still good.
Heh heh...no, I think we’ll let the lizard live. I think they eat spiders and I kid you not, Joshua has found about 10 black widows in our back yard in just the last couple of weeks. Full grown...big ones.
July 30, 2007. The Shelob Encounter (I'm keeping track)
Cute Kittehs!
sigh...I hestitate to post this to a room full of homeschoolers. But, Luke was attacked on the playground today. Shoved down and kicked. He’s not seriously hurt but was in the clinic (and calmed down) when the school reached the Mrs.
He’d already told us he was being bullied (short, smart kid with glasses - he’s an easy target). And he listed the names of the three. When he told us that I spoke with the guidance counselor and didn’t even have to name the kid. She knew because that same kid had just returned from a suspension after slamming a kid’s head into a desk during art class.
It was the same kid today. He’s not coming back to school. Sadly, he’s an emotionally disturbed special ed kid, so it’s pretty obvious this behavior is coming from ~somewhere~. But as we told the school, we’ll teach Luke to deal with name calling, but we expect the school to watch out for his physical safety.
I miss the days when you could say to your kid if someone touches you beat the crap out of them. But not in today’s environment.
We know Luke’s not going to public middle school (at least not if they don’t change the district lines). But we’re also considering what we can do in the fall. The private schools we’re interested in are quite spendy. But we may have to find a way.
Better than Brown Recluse Spiders. We fortunately don't have them, but I think that you can get them.
Good. I was always really bad about things like that. Even when I was as old as 14 I would scream and run away.
What would you do if someone at work shoved you down and kicked you?
I often wonder that. When my neighbor’s daughter was attacked on the school bus, I wondered what would “I” do, if someone attacked me, strangled me to the point I had red marks on my neck, pulled out chunks of my hair and blackened my eyes?
‘Cause that’s what happened to her.
Her mother complained to the school and kept her off the bus for a week or so.
I’m not being sarcastic or anything...I really wonder this.
I hope you can figure something out Corin. I had one brother - the one who’s training in the Army right now - who would have had that same sort of crap happen. We even had one or two incidents with kids we knew, he was just so small, had glasses, and didn’t really like being treated like a baby by kids who weren’t half as smart as he was.
At least they got the other kid out of there... a lot of the horror stories I hear about they won’t even do that.
I can feel the blood pounding in my head, this upsets me so much. That poor sweet little kid...
Yeah, at least they got the other kid out of there.
I’ve only been physically attacked twice. Once, when the girl came at me and I hit her with the box fan. I called the police then and they wouldn’t do anything...thought it was a cat fight, you know? I kept trying to tell them I was in my own room minding my own business and she came in and tried to rob me, but they wouldn’t do anything. (She eventually stole one of the other girls’ cars and they finally got her on that.)
The second time I was at work and a co-worker got mad at me and threw a huge keyring with a bunch of keys on it at me and hit me in the face just under my right eye. I threatened to press charges on her and they fired her on the spot so I didn’t.
Not too long after that I started getting death threats on the phone and had a tap on my line for a long time...
Heh...people either love me or really hate me.
That’s just how the gov’t school system is, but you know what’s best for him and in the end, you know you’ll do the right thing. I went to public school through the sixth grade until some personal problems arose, back when things were different than today.
Yes, and also, you’re a freak magnet.
If I had had half as many freaks come wandering into my life as you have I would definitely have a concealed carry permit by now.
(Note to Talon: yes, you do count toward my freak total, love, and you’re specifically exempt from the shooting thing.)
Well, this is true.
