If I had had half as many freaks come wandering into my life as you have I would definitely have a concealed carry permit by now.

I have not been in a fight in ages but I had a few. Don't recall how many. I do remember going to the principle's office in 4th grade once after a minor scuffle. It seems the teacher was not so happy that my finger makes were on his neck. He started it. I was a small kid but no bully ever messed with me twice. That one certainly didn't.

My brother was in 8th grade at the time and he got picked on a lot. Same story, small smart kid with glasses. That was one of the reasons we were all pulled out the next year. These days it drives me nuts when some guys try to make an argument against homeschooling, or against modern 'no bullying' policies by saying that it toughens you up to get picked on. Invariably the guys that say that are over 6 foot and played football in highschool. They have absolutely no clue what it is like to be a defenseless outcast getting preyed on. Grrr.

Glad to hear you are looking at options. There are some great private schools out there. Don't hesitate to look at hybrid or nonstandard choices if there are any. I spend one year in 2nd grade doing half days at a private school and the second half at home with mom. I am sure you guys will come up with something great for him.
