You said it so much more clearly than I did, Amy, and I apologize that my post may have sounded flippant. I certainly was not meant to be.

We are blessed with abundance - every where we turn - and those poor poor people have nothing.

No need to apologize, Yorkie, your post did not sound flippant. You sounded like someone that hurt while looking at those pictures.

"Where are OESY, NicknamedBob and Darksheare?"

I can't speak for the others, but I just got back from a wedding reception.

Now I have to attend to a few chores and then ... well, who knows?

Truly heartbreaking, as so many of these tragedies are for the people who have suffered.

"I was sure I would find you on the beautiful women post."

Well, I got my chores done, or promised to. I decided to write a poem. You know how that goes.

It doesn't have anything to do with women, but ... given time ...

I Only Want

I only want a million days,
To loll around and squander,
And idly, in a drunkard’s path,
About the hills to wander.

A million days of sunrise,
Begetting jeweled morn,
And sultry softened afternoons,
With rain no hint to warn.

The rain may fall in eventide,
To lull a resting soul,
As smiling for the joy of life,
Relinquishes control.

Such perfect days are metered,
We get so very few,
A million such seem adequate,
If one has aught to do.

I’d intersperse them with a touch,
Of raw days and of storm,
Which wouldn’t count among the list,
Just give excuse to warm,

While waiting out the frozen count,
Of days on which I feed,
Before the fire of stored delight,
Preserved for such a need.

Good morning, all!

Theories on roosters that cross the road:

1. Albert Einstein: Whether the Rooster crossed the road or the road moved beneath the Rooster depends upon your relative point of view. The Rooster did not cross the road - it transcended it.

2. Sir Isaac Newton: A Rooster at rest tends to stay at rest. Rooster in motion tend to cross the road.

3. Quantum Logic Rooster: The Rooster is distributed probabilistically on all sides of the road until you observe it on the side after his atoms collided.

4. Cray Rooster: Crosses faster than any other Rooster, but if you don't dip him in liquid nitrogen first, it arrives on the other side fully cooked.

5. Barack Obama Rooster: I fight for the Roosters and I am fighting for the Roosters right now. I will not give up on the Roosters crossing the road! I will fight for the Roosters and I will not disappoint them. Did I mention that I voted against the road and bridge maintenance bill before I voted for it?
