Mt. Everest Day? Thanks, I didn't know that.
Above, climbers and porters on a 1963 American expedition set off in their bid to ascend
Mount Everest. The team used 900 porters to carry 27 tons of supplies to base camp.
In the end six team members reached the summit with little more than their backpacks.

I know that I need to take the stairs instead of looking for an escalator or an elevator.
The elevators and escalators are for us who shun or run away from exercising. ;^ )

I pulled into the crowded parking lot at the Super Wal-Mart Store and rolled
down the car windows to make sure my Labrador Retriever Pup had fresh
air.
She was stretched full-out on the back seat
and I wanted to impress upon her that she must
remain there. I walked to the curb backward,
pointing my finger at the car and saying emphatically,
“Now you stay. Do you hear me?”
“Stay! Stay!”
The driver of a nearby car, a pretty blonde young lady, gave me a strange
look and said, “Why don’t you just put it in park?”

Oh, I am loving all the roses today! White roses are my favorite, yorkie, and that one is beautiful!
I want so badly to post some of my rose photos today, but I can't right now. I am in the middle of a big job out front, ironically, dead-heading my ground roses. They looked gorgeous a couple weeks ago, just solid deep pink roses, but are now solid dead, brown roses. It's practically an all day job, but I've got to stick with it until it's done.
I hope I will have time later today to participate in "rose day" at Amy's.
Thank you all for these beautiful rose posts and poems! Amy's Place looks lovely today. :-)

When I had a backyard, Peace was there. It seems to be very hardy.
Would love to smell that King’s Ransom:)

I will take pictures when I get a good bud. The ones I had were burned around the edges by our extreme (100+) heat last week. It has a lovely fragrance, too.
I have enjoyed my roses, though I don’t have very many varieties.....yet.....:D

You need to choose ones that are hardy to your weather.
Sunset mag could help with that, I think.....

Is that a rose magazine? My hubby reads a lot about gardening, but we’re just beginning to pick roses. My peace had a rocky go of it for a couple of years, but this year has been much stronger.
I love roses!
....and Irises!
