Prayer Request for Jim Robinson Original post: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1995434/posts?page=1
Sorry about being gone all day yesterday. I was at the VA hospital where a team of doctors and cardiovascular surgeons were examining my legs and trying to come up with a treatment plan for the circulatory problem I've been fighting for the last several years. The good news is they think they can save my legs! Hurrah! And I will probably be out most of today too. I'm going back to the VA this morning for some sonogram tests. More on that on another thread later. By the way, I was really impressed with the professionalism, courtesy, concern, care and respect the VA staff gives to our veterans. These people are great! |

Thank you very much, Kitty Mittens and all! Went in to have my dressings changed and more tests today. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to conduct all the tests they wanted. My left leg is too raw and painful (and oozing “yucky stuff” their words), and they said I would not be able to tolerate the tests. Maybe later. Have to go back tomorrow to see a wounds specialist. And they’re trying to arrange a home health aid to come out daily to change the dressings and do whatever else needs to be done on a daily basis. The good news is, my right leg is looking better. It’s dry and most of the ulcers seem to be healing. The left big toe is bad though. I may lose that one. No results yet on yesterday’s CT scan.

Our prayers are continuing, Jim.
I am looking forward to hearing you say that the left leg is improving.
I am happy they are arranging for a home health aid to come out to help and to check on you. I know the daily trips to VA are difficult. Maybe this will reduce the number of trips you need to make.
Take care and know that many are praying for you.

Thanks for the update ping, Amy.
Jim, that is good news that at least your right leg is improving and that someone will be coming out daily to check on you. Will they also be able to administer the insulin injections? It would be nice if they could take care of everything while they are there. That would take care of one worry I've had. I've been concerned about you and Sheila managing the insulin injections by yourselves.
Take care and please know that many people are continuing to send up prayers for you.

Thank you for the Update, and I'm Thanking our Lord that your Right Leg is Looking Better. A Health Aid Coming to your Home to Change the Dressing and Help Out is Good; Thank You, Lord, for Your Hand of Grace. My Prayers are with you, and I'll be on my Knees in the Next Hour or So, Calling Upon our Savior's Name. May His Presence be with you Daily, His Sweet Spirit Comforting and Strengthening your Heart. Our Loving Lord Blanket you with Mercies, and Bring you a Peaceful, Restful Night.

Thank you for the continued updates, Jim. We are really concerned and praying that you and the doctors will find relief somewhere, somehow, in this time of challenge. You are being a real trooper, but I know it is draining your reserve strength, so I am praying for renewed hope and strength. Then I am praying for a breakthrough in the treatment that will finally heal the wounds.
Thank you, Jesus, for being with Jim and the doctors as they press on for relief of pain and for healing for Jim. You can do all things. In your Name we pray. Amen.

Thank you all very much for your prayers. Didn’t learn a whole lot test-wise today. Still no results from the CT scan and they didn’t run any new tests today. I was seen by a wound specialist and she’s prescribed a new dressing. It’s a silver sol (something?) gel which is applied like “icing on a cake” and then covered with a calcium alginate dressing with a gauze dressing to finish it off. This is supposed to chemically dissolve and remove the dead skin so new skin can grow and also to absorb the fluids that are leaking. Monday I go to nuclear medicine for a lymphoscintogram scan and they’ll change my dressings. Tuesday we try to schedule a meeting with a home care nurse, to change the dressings, and do whatever else needs doing on a daily basis. My right leg is looking better. After most of the dead skin and crusty yucky stuff has been scrubbed away, we see just two open ulcers remaining and hopefully, the new dressing will help heal those.
God bless you all for your continuing prayers and comforting words. FReepers are the geatest!

No angiogram. No blood thinners. They’ve talked about doing an angiogram, but have not scheduled it.

Thank you, Jim, for the regularly scheduled update. It helps with the prayers when we know specifics for which to pray.
Lord, tonight we come asking that the new dressings will be the healing balm that is needed for Jim's legs. We praise you, Mighty God, for you are the One who holds all healing in your hands. Thank you for what you will do for our Brother. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Sunday morning prayer.
LOrd, I see the dressings on Jim's legs ad I affirm that the wounds are beginning to heal as your Spirit of healing swirls around and through them. I hold this thought because I know that you are the source of all healing. Thank you for renewed flesh and loss of pain in Jim's legs. YOu are the Almighty, and you are in control. Give Jim rest and peace of mind,, Lord. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
