Have I told you lately that I hate my new computer?

It is running slow as molasses. I’m rebooting it. I probably should shut it down at night.

Or .... I could just use Marissa’s. I don’t know if it is the difference between XP and Vista or if my computer needs to be upgraded already. :^(

Meg, when I make my regular chicken salad, I always dice one stalk celery very fine, sweet pickle cubes, and if I have chopped English walnuts, I use some of those and of course, mayonaise. That is for my sandwiches. If I want to eat on a plate with crackers, its good to add some nice grapes, halved!

I even like small celery sticks with dip or stuffed with pimento cheese or flavored cream cheese. And I use celery in my cooking some also! Guess I always thought everyone loved celery!

Marissa got really tired and cranky.

Waiting in Martinez for 2 hours in the middle of the night had all of us dragging. When we finally got on the train and she was able to climb into a bed, she was excited. The next night we arrived in Eugene at midnight instead of 2:00. Again she didn’t have a bed. She went to sleep with her head in my lap in the back seat of the rental car.

JustJr says “Mom, ARe you sure you want to go thru that again?”

If we go by train, I think we need to plan on being at least 6 hours late.

I am looking forward to watching your presentations. They are always beautiful.

I will watch this afternoon after I catch up on my pings.

Oh, I love it! The baby birds are growing fast, aren’t they? And, you are so right: the Momma birds are on their job protecting the nest and the young. It is a divine imperative! Thank you for the pictures, for letting us see this miracle unfold:)

I don’t understand the way Amtrak has changed their schedules. Do they want more business or less? I can see, over time, they have shortened the hours on certain routes (I mostly rode the Southwest Chief). Therefore, they end up going too fast in some stretches or just being late, as in your case. However, I personally would give it another try. There is no comparison to the scenery you see; the viewing car is fun and so is the dining car.

The History of Earth Day

April 22, 1998 marks the 28th Anniversary of the first Earth Day. Originally called “The First National Environmental Teach-in,” Earth Day was modelled after the anti-Vietnam war teach-ins of the late 1960s.

As former Senator Gaylord Nelson recalled in an October 1990 speech: “...[T]he idea for Earth Day occurred to me in late July 1969, while on a conservation speaking tour out West. At the time there was a great deal of turmoil on the college campuses over the Vietnam War. Protests, called anti-war teach-ins, were being widely held on campuses across the nation.. I read an article on the teach-ins, and it suddenly occurred to me, why not have a nationwide teach-in on the environment?

“That was the origin of Earth Day.”

April 22, 1970, the first Earth Day, also marked the
100th Anniversary of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin's birth.
Lenin is thought to have killed 4 million people.

... but, but, but, at least this reduced polution....
and liberals wonder why America doesn't trust them.

So very true.

The demwitted liberals want us all to have Third World life styles.

No cars, not leather, no meat. Eat your celery sticks and quit complaining.

Save the fish ... Save the trees. Release all laboratory animals.
