Don’t know why but I sent my greeting to the Canteen link you posted. They will get it anyway!

Going to have my cereal and bananas now. I have killed a lot of time this morning having fun! Now the ‘must-do’s’ have to be tackled! ~~sigh~~

I loved this one! I have a CD by Patsy Cline and love her music. My dad was a railroad man all his life and he would have loved it. He has been gone a long while!

The scenery is beautiful on this presentation!

I am so far behind in answering my pings! Where do I begin???

Amy - my apologies for being awol. Am I fired? I have all kinds of excuses. Want to hear them? LOL.

Kitty Mittens - your new canine companion is a blessing and a match made in Heaven! I just know that God brought her to you and you to her. Your descriptions of what a joy she is makes me smile. Have you named her yet?

OESY and NnB - thank you both for being here and for all you do.

Dita, yorkie, meg and jaycee - special hugs to you, my friends. Thanks for your pings (even though I've been absent, I did see them all) and thanks for everything you special ladies bring to Amy's Place. You make me smile more often than you know.

cardhu - your Power Point presentations are breathtaking! I have viewed them all. I especially liked the White Pass and Yukon Railroad trip. My husband and I took that train up to the summit two summers ago. What an experience that was!

Dolly - I had not seen that "Engineers' Guide to Cats". Those guys have WAY too much time on their hands. LOL.

I am so frustrated because their youtube video was such good quality and the ones I am uploading to youtube are awful! My new camera takes nice videos and I put one together yesterday of my mama jay feeding her babies. On my computer it looks clear and nice, but the quality is so bad on youtube that you can't even see the babies in the nest. I removed it, it was embarrassing. I thought about uploading it to my server and linking to it, because I would love to share it, but it is a 43MG file (and it is only about a minute long!)....way too large for my graphic server. If I reduce the quality, you can't even see the babies. Guess I still have lots to learn about making videos and sharing them. :-(

I did upload a fairly good video I took this weekend of my mama jay, "Scrubita", singing her "whisper song". Anyone who would like to see it, click the link below.....

Scrubita Singing for her Peanuts

A prayer request - I have a prayer request for freeper soldiersprayingmom's little Welsh Corgi, Trooper, who has just been diagnosed with lymphoma. Another dear friend on FR also has a dog that has been diagnosed with lymphoma. Prayers for them and for healing miracles for these precious pets, Trooper and Rusty, will be much appreciated.

Prayers for Poetgal26. Get well soon! I recall what it's like being sick and having a little one to care for.

And, of course, last but definitely not least, continued prayers for Jim Robinson. Here is his Jim's Prayer Thread and Most Recent Update.

A whole MONTH dedicated to CELERY? LOL. How about a month dedicated to Prime Rib??? Now, that is something worth celebrating! :-)

I am with you, Lady J; where's the beef?

LOL. I’d rather have a months’ worth of jelly beans than a months’ worth of celery.

"The thought of two thousand people crunching celery at the same time horrified me."
George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950).
Explaining why he had turned down an invitation to a vegetarian gala dinner.

“Lettuce, greens and celery, though much eaten, are worse than cabbage,
being equally indigestible without the addition of condiments.”
William Andrus Alcott (1846)

“The Democrats seem to be basically nicer people, but they have demonstrated
time and again that they have the management skills of celery.”
Dave Barry

“I'm afraid of losing my obscurity. Genuineness only thrives in the dark. Like celery.”
Aldous Huxley

“Canada is the essence of not being. Not English, not American,
it is the mathematic of not being. And a subtle flavour - we're more like celery as a flavour.”
Mike Myers

Many kids can tell you about drugs but do not know what celery or courgettes taste like.
Jamie Oliver

My parents were vegetarians. I'd show up at school, this giant black kid,
with none of the cool clothes and a tofu sandwich and celery sticks.
Aisha Tyler
