Had a guy yest come in and tell me he was an expert landscaper and he couldn’t understand why no one here knew what or how to plant. Wanted to know why we didn’t have any blue spruce or blah blah blah.

I just grinned and said, you’re from up north aren’t you?

He blinked and said yeah—like the accent didn’t give him away.

I could have been ugly. I jsut grinned wider and told him—that stuff won’t live 5 minutes here. Can’t take the salt air and heat and humidity. Steered him towards some stuff that will do much better than what he had planned.

He didn’t buy anything, may or may not. Will probably go to Lowes and buy what he wanted anyway. Then he’ll come back to me and complain about what sorry plants Lowes carries. LOL

It’s funny how different plants will thrive only in certain parts of the country. Why the stores sell azaleas here, is beyond me, as I have never seen one bloom that had been planted here in the high desert.

So, of course someone gave me one for my birthday. I can’t bear to throw a live plant out, so, I’m tenderly caring for the little thing, like it was in ICU - and I KNOW for a fact that it won’t make it. Sniff....

It’s amazing how some plants will only live in certain areas, and some couldn’t care less. Most azaleas and camellias came from China and Japan but have adapted extremely well to NC and the rest of the south. Can’t imagine an azalea living in the desert! Sorry. :(

Florists have gotten their hands on some beauties that won’t live anywhere! But of course, everyone wants one in their arrangements!

Azaleas do well here in SoCal, blooming during the winter. They are probably wilting in today’s heat....

LOL, Yorkie’s magical fax machine, light years ahead of the rest.

Now, if OESY could fax me some peach cobbler, I’m just about ready for dessert here:)

Sounds good to me!

I think someone told me haikus are supposed to be 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables. I could be wrong! LOL You’ll have to check with someone smarter than me! I like yours anyway! I have trouble hearing syllables—always did poorly in school when we had to know how many a word had! I could spell it, no prob. Shaking head and grinning. :)
