Had a customer come in about the 23 and say one of his hummers was back and demanding to be fed. Early, but we’ve had a fairly mild winter.

Beautiful, as always! Thanks!

Nice pics. We've got um rear round and they drink about a gallon every couple of weeks.

Don't buy the red stuff..No good for them. Just mix sugar and water, they love it and it's a lot cheaper.

COOL PICS! I started putting out Hummer feeders only a couple of years ago. Now I look forward to then comming back to Pittsburgh, usuaally late April and May.

Decades ago we had them at the family home...I still live there...but for 20 or so years I didn't see any.

Now it's a right of Spring!

Thanks for the thread!

Didn’t you post pictures and write about these birds last year, or sometime earlier? Very neat that they come back to the same place every year. Great pictures too.

Great pictures! We have a feeder but it's empty now. I thought it was too early, but evidently I should fill it up tomorrow!

We have a nest of house finches in one of the Boston ferns hanging on our porch. It's the third we've had in two states! I put up a finch feeder yesterday and have already seen a bunch of house and gold finches. There are also bluebirds in the neighborhood, and cardinals. Glad I left the city! :)

We had a female resident who returned for six years, I believe, but successfully nested just her last year. Last year, no resident, just a few migrants. Hummingbirds don’t live forever. But the first birds have hit NJ, and it’s time to hang out the and cross my fingers...

Did you know the hummingbirds who outpace the flowers on the way north will feed at sapsucker holes? I am seriously tempted to get the drill and go up the maple trees - seeing as how sapsuckers are pretty scarce here themselves.

What we have got nesting is a pair of Cooper’s hawks.

Beautiful!

Love the Lady Cardinal, and the ever beautiful hummingbird.

You have a gift to be able to “see” things others can’t.

You are an artist, my friend.

Our usuals are all back now, except the Mockingbird who hasn't showed yet

Cardinal, Mourning Dove, BlueJays and House Wrens are here and preparing to nest in our habitat in E. Central Kansas.

Now if only the sun would make an appearance!! It seems like it's been cold, cloudy and dreary since the fall.

Great pics! I remember sitting in my in-law’s back yard a few years ago when they had a swarm of those little birds. This was in LaGrange, TX. They ended up putting out 5 feeders and that wasn’t nearly enough. I tried to count them all ... not an easy task ... but I estimated that there were well over 100 at the time. It was quite a site.
