She first loses her horse and now she loses American Idol. GOOD!
When we get to this level of the elimination rounds, with everyone of such great quality, it makes it tough. But I have to say that I am happy that my favorite, Jason Castro, goes on again into the next final rounds and well deserved. He is pure magic! Jason Castro, yes!
My rankings:
1. David C.(consistent)
2. Syesha(good performer and a good singer when she keeps the screeching to a minimum)
3. David A.(mediocre performances tonight but he still has the best voice left in the contest)
4. Brooke(one good performance and one bad)
5. Jason(mediocre performances and still not much of a voice)
Who should go: Jason
Who will go: I think Jason’s time is up. Toss up between him and Brooke though.
Anyone who makes it to the top five, they have to be good and they are good. I got to say, I am glad my favorite, Jason Castro, is in the top four.
He has a special quality in his music, and I look forward to the opportunity to purchase his cd. He has a great chance to win this, and so a cd is possible.
Just watch, he can really deliver a magical moment, and he can do it again - in the last rounds, watch him do it.
Go Jason
Here’s to hoping that Jason will get the boot this week and Syesha the week after. (Or vice versa.) Dreadlocks boy doesn’t really want to be there anyway. Although she’s certainly stepped it up the past few weeks, Syesha has had so many pitch problems during this season that have made me want to tear my hair out that I’m almost bald. Hopefully my few remaining hairs will be spared by her imminent departure.
I’m hoping for a David v. David finale with a Cook victory. I think David Archuleta has an amazing voice, but he needs to live a little bit more to be able to bring something really special to his songs. Cook is already there. Just my .02
Opps! Jason did a boo boo! Wrong song for him.
Syesha hit the home run with Proud Mary. Super!
I just hope Jason comes back in the second song tonight! (I’m still and probably always be a Jason Castro fan!)
I agree with Simon that David A. crushed the others this week(partly because the others weren’t as strong as they’ve been in the past, and David A. was better than he’s been in several weeks.)
1. David A.(Thought he did a nice job with both songs)
2. David C.(Not too good on the first song—blame it partly on the band because it needed more of that pulsing beat that the Duran Duran version has. Better with the Who song but David C. should have made wiser choices with his selections.)
3. Syesha(Tried to be Tina Turner lite and it sorta worked and sorta didn’t work. It was a’ight. Didn’t care for the second song because it came up way short of Sam Cooke’s version.)
4. Jason C.(First performance was just strange but it was interesting to see Jason try to do something different—can’t say it was good, just interesting. I actually enjoyed his second song. Too bad he blew the lyric.)
Should go: Jason
Will go: Jason
Jason is the obvious one to go. I am going to predict it will come down to the two Davids.
Feeling bad for Jason Castro. He brought a lot of magic to the show, and I’m going to miss him. But he will probably still be around in the media, on T.V. and radio - he may even STILL have an contract to cut some music on CD, that would be great.
Syesha is the best of the remaining three, that’s my 2 cents.
Keep yur dreads, Jason.
I’ve caught up on this week’s AI and then tonight I watched Carrie Underwood get inducted into the Grand Ole Opry....I cried like a baby - I feel like she’s one of ours......talk about a success story......and they say country music doesn’t matter.....
I thought David C. was clearly best tonight, and I hope he wins. Performances were a toss-up between David A. and Syesha. Syesha needed a stupendous night to make it into the final and didn’t get it. She’s probably gone this week. David A. is going to have to do better than he did tonight in next week’s show, and he probably will. I thought the teeny-bopper vote would give Archuleta an easy win, but now I’m thinking the final vote is going to be really close.
aha so this is where you hang out my friend!
I have yet to see one of these shows but I am sure I would enjoy them & then coming to this thread.
I am happy for David Cook! And I liked his final song, great presentation and vocals.
Well, I guess I’m happy!
P.S. - My daughter is happy, too!

Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell got rich by appearing on America’s top-rated TV show. Can he build a business that will outlast his own fame?
On a cool Tuesday night in Hollywood, things are already going wrong for Simon Cowell. On the way to the American Idol set from his Beverly Hills home he had to abandon his $1.6 million Bugatti on the street because he was running out of gas and couldn’t find one of two stations that sell racing fuel. The dealership stepped in with a Rolls-Royce loaner. But now the makeup artist is running late, and Cowell, lounging shirtless in his trailer, starts to get annoyed.
Things get worse when the live show starts. Mellow dreadlocked singer Jason Castro butchers a version of Bob Marley’s “I Shot the Sheriff.” Judges Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul are clearly unhappy with the performance. But the 23 million Americans watching at home wait to hear Cowell.
“That was utterly atrocious,” he says, delivering the expected slash line. “This was like a first-round-audition massacre. I don’t know what you’re thinking.” Mix a cranky Cowell with a terrible act and you get great TV. The crowd boos but knows Cowell is right. The next night Castro is voted off the show.
His harsh putdowns and bravado
