Interesting video I saw in the KC Star

Thanks for the info. When I lived in LA I listened to Christian music much more than I do here in KC. I also can’t get any Christian broadcasting like I did in LA - it’s on digital cable that I don’t have - I miss the PAX network (didn’t they sell out?).
Plus I think Michael Johns or Brooke White should still be there but Brooke started and stopped her own chances at the top three one to many times.
A quote from a Clay Aiken interview:
Have you been watching Idol?
The last time I watched was the season Carrie Underwood won. I havent had the time, nor have I had the desire. Its a different show now.
Wow looks somebody has got a really bad case of the "Big Ears" err "Big Head" now.
Clay’s, “It’s a different show now” intrigued me. I’d love to know what he meant by that. It is a different show, that’s for sure.
“For the songs Davd Cook had I think he knocked it out the park on all three. With the short amount of time he had with each song he brought it 100%.
“As for little David he when he tried to hip it up it was like ok so you only had 5 Prozac today instead of the usual 10.”
*snort!* Yeah, cuttin’ back on the meds really perked him up — not!
I am too lazy to write up my own review so I will just piggyback onto yours, if I may, since I agree with you 100 percent. I was very happy with David C’s performances tonight. I thought before tonight that he could do very well with “The First Time” and I’m very pleased to see I was right. The final note on that was quite impressive — right in tune, full, rounded — hard to do for male singers on such a high note. And I was especially happy with DC’s final song. Nice, nice work. My husband (who watches AI with me only so that he can make fun of most of the contestants and tell me why they suck) went so far as to say he might buy DC’s first album!
As for Syesha, I thought her first two songs were very nicely done, though there is some quality about her that screams “Broadway” rather than “recording artist.” For me, that’s not a problem, though obviously Simon doesn’t care for it.
(In a total nitpick, I must say that Syesha’s first dress, the long one, while sparkly and obviously expensive, made her look like a sack of potatoes! Her waist looked huge and her, ahem, accessories looked like they belonged on a fifty-year-old who had nursed ten children. The dress did not fit her correctly at all. The wardrobe mistress should be shot!)
As for little Monchichi, I thought you summed up his performance quite well. Poor kid. I do think many of his issues are due to age and lack of maturity. I hope he stays in the business and gets a really good mentor (obviously, that rules out his dad! LOL!) so that he can achieve his potential. I’d like to hear him sing in ten years.
But I do agree with Simon they need to update the musical mentors making the song selection more current.
~Round 1
Cook
Mercado
Archuleta
~Round 2
Mercado
Cook
Archuleta
~Round 3
Mercado
Cook
Archuleta
~David Cs best song song #1, probably the best of the night. Song 2 was his off song. For song 3, I have to deduct points for singing that particular Aerosmith song.
~Syeshas best song song #1, overshadowed by Cooks opener. She’s the most consistent performer of the three.
~David As best song song #3, by default. I’d buy an album of his to cure my insomnia.
Overall ranking (change from last week)
1- Syesha (n/c)
2- David C. (n/c)
3- David A. (n/c)
Although now Im hoping for Cook to win. Syesha is Wednesday nights sacrificial lamb for the Archuleta love-fest.
Mmmm... melty “;^)
Did the swaying kids in the mosh pit bring dollar bills? :)
Ok I should have taken the time for a better pun for David A. being toast. But it is late. *sigh
I thought David C. was clearly best tonight, and I hope he wins. Performances were a toss-up between David A. and Syesha. Syesha needed a stupendous night to make it into the final and didn’t get it. She’s probably gone this week. David A. is going to have to do better than he did tonight in next week’s show, and he probably will. I thought the teeny-bopper vote would give Archuleta an easy win, but now I’m thinking the final vote is going to be really close.
Now Monchichi fans and get that gooey cheesy bite of Monchichi deliciousness that they have been craving.
And so it went. :)
There have been a couple of episodes in the past that were so 'out there' that I had a hard time following the story line. I thought this one was going to be another one of those, but the last half hour is all started making sense and the pieces started falling into place.
In a way, it reminded me of an old M*A*S*H episode, where medic suffers such a devastating loss when he realizes that his younger brother didn't make it out of the trench and was killed, so he repressed it, and everything else, including who he is. The shrink hypnotizes the medic and BJ and Hawkeye recreate the events to cause the medic to remember.
I just can't believe that next week is the House finale already. What did they have, 8 new episodes this year?
I liked the old ones but agree they were running out of fresh ideas for them. I'm glad they are back though. I'm adjusting to the new ones very slowly and never liked the Amber character and was disappointed when they brought her back.
I also don't care for the fact that at least 3 times now they have refered to the new gal as being a lesbian. If they make her ac/dc or lesbian, I will stop watching. I'm tired of shows having to have a token gay character.
Yep and its a very legitimate venue for music these days. AI helps Broadway a bit I think by allowing people like Syesha, Degarmo, Hudson, Lakiesha, Aiken, Federov, LaToya and others to 'audition' without multiple 'callbacks'.
