I can’t believe I’m defending Paula Abdul, but cajungirl is right.
Paula stays and actually watches dress rehearsal, earlier in the day from the performance show. As far as I know, she always has. It looked to me that she just kept reading from her own earlier notes. She’s ridiculous, and kind of sad in her behavior, but it’s not a big scandal. Even if someone does help write her comments, so what. It’s not as if ‘reality’ TV is actually real. Everyone knows better. Well, most people know better.
DITTO on So You Think You Can Dance. It is, however, plot-filled, scripted, formally cast, and “rigged,” too, just like all reality tv. Just a warning.

The dances rock though....I LOVE dance competitions and I like the new dance show on MTV with dance crews competiting.

excellent summation of the show. you’d make a great judge (i mean that in a good way).
To: Netizen
I think what it meant was that the shows are scripted.
The producers tell the judges what to say and who to promote.

Yeah, they do. A high competitor from season 2 was (and still is) a dance instructor where my kids take classes. Through her experience we learned a lot about how these shows operate. All rigged, all scripted. Nothing new. The next year, another girl from our studio tried out — went a long way — didn’t get cast in the final day of Vegas week. She is, arguably, a better, more rounded dancer than the season 2 girl. But she’s got a sweet personality and almost zero drama. THAT’S what these shows cast.

On the AI boards they’re saying that she was NOT at the rehersal...
I think the producers of AI really screwed up this time.
It may have a kind of “Quiz Show” affect on the whole thing.
It may even be against the law to script shows like this and claim they’re not.

Fans, I've been reading a bit on the other forums and many think there is a Jason Conspiracy. After Pauler gave him a negative review before he even sang, he gave a poor performance. Last week they played a clip of Jason where he said he was lonely there. They only show clips of him yawning or acting goofy...Michael Johns has commented that he's a smart kid. Frankly, Jason threatens their Battle of the Davids finale.
Also, the judges see the rehearsals via video. Perhaps they make notes, perhaps their remarks are scripted. Paula slammed Brooke for her lyrics mess while Monchichi screws up every week and not a peep. And they wonder why their ratings are slipping???
Prediction--they will send home Brooke to cover up the Jason controversy.

Nobody questions your credibility. It is your maturity we question, or I do. And you rather rigid naive expectations of what a show like this is supposed to be.
You seem determined to be angry, disappointed and morally superior to everyone here.
To: Miss Didi
Nope..not gonna happen..Brooke stays...
However, I do predict a BIG SURPRISE in the program tonight..Simon and Randy vote to send Paula home..
To: ken5050
Oh, please, how I pray you are right...as I (and Carly Simon) would weep to lose our beloved Brooke. ;) Wouldn't it be groovy if little David went home with Paula? Or maybe they will be soooooo embarrassed by this fiasco, that they will send nobody home tonight.

Ever watch that show Step It Up and Dance on Bravo? Talk about Drama. It’s kind of hard to watch sometimes, because it’s got a lot of filler with the drama...and you have to sit through watching the several gay contestants talk smack about themselves and each other...thso dithsguthsting....like I’m thso thsure....but the dances are pretty cool. The last competition they had to work with Stomp and do a Stomp routine. It looks easier than it is.

I decided not to watch that one. I also didn’t dig the Randy Jackson dance crew war show. When he and Paula put out that shopworn single “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow,” I officially gave up on him. So far, AI’s sharkjumping moment was when they instituted Idol Gives Back, but we’ll have to see if they top it. Can’t say for sure yet!
To me, being an AI watcher is an exercise in watching deconstruction. We watched it rise; now we’re watching it fall in slower motion.

Simon and Randy vote to send Paula home..Seriously, the question should not be, "Is it rigged?", but. "Can American Idol afford to keep Paula the idiot on the panel?".

I’m trying to watch “SIUAD”, but all the personalities on that show are so off-putting, esp. the ugly flaming Puerto Rican dude with the Prince hairdo. </shudder>

Fans, just read on another Idol forum that a radio station reported a rumor that there will be NO elimination tonight (to cover for Paulagate). Fine with me. ;)

Thats a true story someone posted here ~ anyone remember who? A lady who brought her boy into the church nursery had actually named her son Reverend after the song because it was her favorite ~ she thought thats what it said!Luckily, not many people go to this length to mis-name their child. I know of one family who really liked the song "Dead Devil in the Freezer"
Actual song: Springsteen's "Tenth Avenue Freezeout"
