The top three idols get a parade. Remember the ones for Elliot, the temptress, and the guy who no longer has a contract? Daughtry didn’t an official Idol parade, since he was fourth, but little McLeansville had one for him. I surprised Mrs. DFU, told her to take a few days off, and we were gone the next day for four days in North Carolina. I got press passes for the Daughtry news conference, and we were in the press area by the stage for his Greensboro concert. Something great happened at the concert. When a radio station announced the Dixie Chicks concert it was sponsoring, thousands of people filled the stadium with booing.
From that trip, I wrote two articles about Chris. One in a biker magazine and one in ADOPTION TODAY.
If Cook doesn’t make the top three, I suspect that the town will have a parade for him.
