Speaking of the beg-a-thon, Seacrest didn't mention it all last night (unless I missed it). I don't think he's said a word about it all week.
So I'm guessing they fell far short of last year's 76 million dollar total. If they had raised more than that, Seacrest would be shouting it from the rooftops.
The ratings were probably way down this year too.
Good.

Just caught Brian's second half of his interview with Simon. He still thinks it will be David v. David, or perhaps “that Jason guy.” When asked about the three presidential candidates, Simon said that it was a lot like Idol—that Obama drew crowds like a rock star. However, he would be comfy with all of them as president. Will post the video as soon as it's available.

kevkrom's Song Selections It's likely that the genre will just be "Broadway/Musical Theater" in general, but under the assumption that it is just ALW music...
- Brooke - "I Don't Know How To Love Him" from Jesus Christ Superstar; alt: "Grizabella The Glamour Cat" from Cats
- Carly - "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" from Evita
- Syesha - "Memory" from Cats
- David C. - "Music Of The Night" from Phantom Of The Opera
- Jason - I got nothing. Maybe "Buenos Aires" from Evita?
- David A. - "Any Dream Will Do" from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Maybe one of the night crew can let us know later.

I think it should have been Brooke. Next week syesha goes, then the following week it's Brooke. If Carly can't sing up to her potential in the next two week's she's next, if she does then Jason goes before her.
To: Wolfstar
My guess at this point for the top three are David C., David A., and Carly. Judged on singing talent alone you would be correct.

Do you think Brooke may have turned off some viewers tonight with her attitude (at the end) and non-stop talking? Hard to say. She seems to be one of those that there is no middle ground. You either like her or you don't, no in between. Those that like her won't be swayed by anything she does. jmo

My guess at this point for the top three are David C., David A., and Carly. Based on what's left, I'd say you're right.

Do you think Brooke may have turned off some viewers tonight with her attitude (at the end) and non-stop talking?Frankly, I am more turned off by Carly's scolding of Simon, and I hope it brings her a ticket back to her tattoo parlor. She is a "semi-pro" and should know better. Brooke is less familiar with the pressures of the music business, and I think that pressure is just plain wearing her out.
One think Mariah got right- AI is the ultimate music boot camp. People forget how difficult it is to consistently produce good live performances, much less with a week's practice. It's put out there in plain sight when you see the "stars" who have been singing the same songs for years come out and give the suckiest of live performances on the show, but no one seems to make the connection. It's much easier to slam these kids week after week for not doing what very few pros are able to do.

How did you know that “I Don't Know How To Love Him” is my all-time favorite song? I would love if Brooke did it!

Yeah, what Kristy lacks in the vocal department, her physical assets more than make up for it.......I'm sure every straight guy over the age of 15 just liked her for her voice. ;-)You gotta give the girl credit for one thing--she might have stayed in much longer had she taken the "skank" road like Haley did last year, and Kristy did not.

I’m watching the E! True Hollywood Story about Carrie, Fantasia and Kelly. I’m sure it’s old but I wasn’t aware E! had done this. It’s interesting.

Isn’t it amazing how down to earth Simon comes across in interviews? Yeah, he has STUFF, but that’s all it seems to be, to him. Unless he’s a really, really good actor. :o)
