Seacrest twists the knife. "Last year during Idol Gives Back we didn't cut anyone that week. (Michael looks at Seacrest, hopeful) This year ... we say goodnight to Michael Johns." Wasn't that cruel?? Why did he do that? To show he's a jerk I guess....

MJ on now talking to Dolly P. wearing a silly ski hat. Dolly thinks America got it wrong...she thinks Michael is terrific and has a great career with or without AI.

Morning, EG :)
After three nights of Idol (and nearly 3 hours on Wednesday) it was easy to forget about Thursday's show :)

I can be more specific and technical. Jason has sung several ballads where he could not perform the high note registry. There was one week where he was so pitchy I thought he might as well just leave the competition on his own. His Rainbow this week was flat. I believe it's because he arranged the song to avoid having to go up there, you know, over the rainbow with the high notes. But hey, the judges love him and so do the little girls who mass vote on their Hello Kitty cell phones. So, it must be me.
Simon and Randy criticize someone every week for being boring and not stretching their song selection. I don't know why that doesn't apply to Brooke. Her range seems very narrow and nothing special. She picks safe flat songs and doesn't get called for it. I try to focus on singing, but Brooke is irritating with her cutesy behavior alternating with her anxiety attacks. She has a soap opera story going on every week and I think it's a sympathy act to get votes. She's about two weeks overdue for my money.
The guy who got dumped consistently demonstrated week after week a strong voice and ranged from hard rock to blues. He showed he could move on stage something neither of the other two have done. He'll be around fronting a band when Jason is back flipping burgers and Brooke is on the front porch rocking her fourth baby wondering why she didn't make it after all the times Simon flirted with her starting in the auditions.

Woo hoo!! Michael Johns and his leaden, plodding vocal delivery and his just say no to high notes and his fat effeminate butt are all GONE! Cat-fight!

Juan Pablo McCain's jokes about Florida and Michigan. Classic!!
I almost did a spittake on that one. I was, like, "Oh no he didn't! Oh no he didn't!!!"Can you tell me what this is about? Was McCain on with a joke?

Downloading single songs is not the same as a Gold Record. No but I'll bet she made a heck of a lot more money from the downloads.

Lets hope she keeps picking the right songs like the past 2 weeks. She may beat out the dreadlock kid! (One can only hope!) Maybe she can. Kristy gets better every week and this week she was great. I like Castro too though...he reminds a little of Cat Stevens before he became a terrorist abetter and Brooke reminds me alot of of Carole King, and after this week I know that it's intentional on her part. Still like her a lot.

And fly-over country, which makes up the largest chunk of Idol's audience, probably didn't appreciate seeing him (or Hillary) either. The huge flag didn't help either. For most politicians it's a standard prop when they're on stage...for Obama as soon as he came on it was the first thing I saw and the first thing I thought was Rev Wright saying "G.D.America". He's never gonna live that down.

My Jesus, my Saviour
Lord there is none like You
All of my days I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love
My comfort, my shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship You
Shout to the Lord
All the Earth, let us sing
Power and majesty
Praise to the King
Mountains bow down
And the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name
I sing for joy at the work
Of Your hand
Forever I’ll love You
Forever I’ll stand
Nothing compares
To the promise I have
In You

Downloading single songs is not the same as a Gold Record. Agreed, not even comparable.
