but for some reason this person singled me out. Maybe it was his mom or the president of the Shepard Smith Society or something.

That's always weird. Like, huh? Did I offend you in another post? I don't know about you, but I try to remember posters' names and I can't!!LOL

'The Shephard Smith Society'.... LOL. I can't seem to get a visual of that one. What would they be called - Shep-heads?

I completely forgot to watch it tonight!! I love Rory and Joey - so does Naomi Judd, but she sure dislikes the Coppolas!

Yes! I always think that! LOL!!

I imagine the Shepard Smith Society, or SSS, would be a little elitist and sorta snooty. There would be a lot of eyeliner involved, too.

Maybe they would be similar to the high society women in California that were hosting (fawning and obsequious behavior) Victoria Beckham she and her husband first came to Cali. One of the middle-aged ladies was show casing her “dolphin call”. Really!

p.s.We’re being dissed on another thread right now. Silly vacuous AI watchers that we are..... ;)

I saw the Dolphin Call Lady on The Soup! LOL!!! But I imagine Shep's fans are more..um...well, they're men. LOL

That always cracks me up. Yeah, I'm sure we're the only freepers who aren't involved in intellectual or political pursuits 100% of the time. You need a break from all that junk or you'll go loco! If they are having fun having a laugh at us, more power to them. Maybe making fun is their way of taking a break! LOL

It’s one of the things I love about this thread. I wasn’t able to watch AI this time & I really missed it here. You guys are the best!

Good point. Some of them are quite funny to read and are fun to spar with. :) I gotta run, have to plan everything in between thunderstorms here in Minneapolis. It looks like I have a window of opportunity for the next several hours!

It's the same way down here in Chicago. Plus if it's not storming, it's 87 with 80% humidity. We had spring for about an hour sometime in April and somehow went back to fall and then we went right into summer.

Interesting article about David Cook - I started a separate thread.

Just had to let you know that I went to this karoake bar in Minneapolis last nite.

Really a fun place. Anyway, a guy sat down at the table next to us and I swear he looked just like Adam Levine. I thought about what you (I think it was you) said, that he goes to karoke bars, and I was really starting to think it was him.

He had on a cool little woolen cap (sounds dorky, I know, but it wasn’t) so I couldn’t see his ears. ;) I wanted to snatch the hat off of him to get a better look at him!

A girl he was with got up to sing, and I was just getting the nerve up to go say something to him, but they left as soon as she was done.

A friend of mine looked up the schedule for Maroon 5 today and supposedly they’re out of the country. :(

I could have sworn..............

And there you have my exciting story of the week!

I didn't get to watch it Friday night either. I had to go out of town because we buried my mother's ashes Saturday, but I'll be watching for the rerun of the show this week. I hear they did great though and that Naomi actually liked the Coppola's this week. Must be they did something different for a change.

Ummm doesn't that make them hypocrits since they are doing the same thing we are, as in discussing something other than politics and having fun?

Yep, me, too. I’m going to do what I want to. I just never understood the people that go into a thread that doesn’t interest them, just to tell everyone what a stupid thread it is.

You mean like this?

"Never seen it."

"Don't have a TV."

"Who watches this trash?"

"I have better things to do."

"Yawn."

And my personal favorite, always guaranteed to make at least one appearance..............

"WHO CARES?!!!!"

I always want to tell them apparently THEY do. They not only took time to click on a thread which was of no interest to their superior intelligence, they also took time to POST.

David Cook to Sing National Anthem at the NBA Finals

http://www.buddytv.com/articles/american-idol/david-cook-to-sing-national-an-20296.aspx

Continuing a yearly American Idol tradition, David Cook will perform the national anthem at Game 3 of the NBA Finals. For the last couple years, the American Idol winner has sang the national anthem at one of the June NBA Finals games. Game 3 between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers will take place on Tuesday, June 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. You can tune in at 9pm ET/6pm PT for the game. Chances are you will be anyway; the Lakers/Celtics finals is expected to be the highest rated NBA Finals in years.

This is just one more reason to be happy that David Cook won American Idol over David Archuleta. Archuleta’s national anthem would most likely be super-cheesy, filled with unnecessary runs and loud groans from the crowd. David Cook will, hopefully, be a little more creative in his rendition. We should expect no less, given what we saw from Cook throughout the American Idol season. It’ll be hard to top the national anthem from Game 1 of the series, however, which was performed by legend James Taylor.
