That's some of the crap I was complaining about in my last post.
I think the biggest failing of that movie was that it was mis-marketed. People went to the movies expecting a sci-fi movie, and they got a comic-book movie. It was a good comic-book movie.

Oh, c’mon. It’s good silly fun, with good visuals, and a cute girl. Not good science fiction, maybe, but entertaining at least.

I enjoy humor! And love it in an SF movie like 5th Element and in music like Zappa’s. Favorite? “Forbidden Planet” The music drives my Chinese-born wife crazy every time I watch it. I find that funny too!

I've got to stand with the good doctor on this one... While the Fifth Element may not be the world's greatest movie, it's a whole lot of fun. Another guilty pleasure of mine is "Starship Troopers." Now please understand that I think that the people who "adapted" Heinlein's work for that movie need to be lined up and shot, I still really enjoyed the movie (as long as I didn't compare it to the classic book.)
