Some dairy farmers also drink unpasturized milk. I'm sure there are quite a few things they have in common besides exposure to cow droppings.

I used to run thru the pasture barefoot as a kid, and hit more than a few and some mighty fresh pies, I should have pretty good immunity based on that alone....yea...I stepped in a few myself...growing up on a farm we milked by hand....guess that is why I've never been much of a "titty" man....had more in my hand by the time I was 10 yrs old than most men dream of in 10 lifetimes.....and now I find out that cow shiite prevents cancer..... That it truly frosting on a titty cake...

Speaking as one who has breathed in all his share of cow-pie dust and part of somebody else’s, I am only thankful that the presence of cowpox has also protected me from the ravages of smallpox as well.
I suppose we should be grateful for small favors from fortune.

Reminds me of an anecdote my Dad used to tell me about Harry Truman. His daughter was appalled by her Dad's liberal use of the word "manure" and asked her Mom if she couldn't get Harry to say something a little more refined.
Said Bess, "Honey, you don't know how many years it took me to teach him to say manure!"

Not quite the “gross” factor of cow manure but seems to me I saw an article a few months back that linked clean and spotless households to a higher rate of asthma in children.

Can we assume that with the 24/7 cable news channels that the rate of lung cancer has declined in the U.S.?

I hope walking through the cow pies barefoot when I was a kid will do it for me.............. Don't tell anybody, just in case your real name is Dick Morris!

Does it work with any kind of poo?
This could explain why you so rarely see dogs with lung cancer.

A healthy immune system when exposed to bacterial threat tends to become stronger.
Does this explain the “French Paradox”?

It’s not at all because farms are rarely in the middle of cities, which are full of smog and pollution, is it?

“The study found farmers typically breathed in dust that consisted largely of dried manure, and all the bacteria that grew in it.”
I grew up on the South Side of Chicago. The air was thick as butter until they closed the stockyards down. I always wondered why I never got sick!

Of course farmers die from farmer’s lung, which is not cancer. All the grain dust and foreage dust destroys the lungs. Just not in a cancerous way.
