I wondered how you chose your nickname, or even your tagline. I enjoy reading the wide variety of names and taglines, as well as some home pages. FReepers are very creative, and smart. I've learned a lot here!

When I was a kid, I had my own tube tester... refurbed it from the local drug store.
Hey, I'm old enough to remember when there were local drug stores! I bought my first car and motorcycle with the proceeds from doing the floors and windows in said drug store. Later on, I turned old enough to get a driver license. Later on, I sold the street bike and bought a dirt bike to ride out in the desert. Later on, I took to walking in the desert. Later on, I just drove out there to shoot rifles at targets. Nowadays, I look at pictures of the desert, through trifocals, poorly.
I used to be great with iron sights. Thank goodness for Leupold, Aimpoint, and covered ranges!

I remember when Pine Flat was just a glimmer in the eyes of farmers in Raisin City and my brothers used pitch forks to “catch” Salmon at the weir near Helm...

Its where I live.
My former SN was about a tool made famous by Gurkha troops...slightly mis-spelled...intentionally.

Mine is self explanatory. “Right” has such a perfect double meaning.

I had a Les Paul deluxe and Marshalls out of high school. Sold em to go to college. Wish I hadn’t. Sold my sax, too. Ended up with a Hummingbird, three Aria’s, two Yamahas and a flute.
The kids play piano and violin.
Sure miss the old fretless wonder.

My ex insisted on buying a Bundy tenor sax which he played exactly 2 hours total. My kid finally sold it to a music resale store. I guess he missed his old Mark IV. I’m glad he didn’t insist on buying one of those!

Impress people with you photo posting greatness... I was going to get a pic of the kid riding his electric scooter down the drive, but it's too snowy and dark to get a decent pic... so I'll post this:

I loved the old Bundy. Nice silver and brass. We won’t say anything about the flute, okay? LOL

OK I’ll bore you to death. I used to use my first name, but this was pre registration and one of the nefarious eternally banned and legally restrained liberal nut jobs and I shared that name and it became unusable. SO I then had a brilliant idea, why not just use my surname, and it stuck.
The tagline is a quote from Puddin’ Head Wilson, one of my favorite Samuel Clemens novels.

"Pine Flat was just a glimmer in the eyes of farmers in Raisin City"
LOL
I remember when the Kings River overflowed and there was flood water half-way to Caruthers. I wonder how much flooding Riverdale received that year.
Now, we pay a bill to Raisin City Irrigation District but ..... we get no water and have no canals. I'm not sure why we need an Irrigation District when we have no irrigation water and no way to get it if we did.
Just another government agency. :)
