"Pine Flat was just a glimmer in the eyes of farmers in Raisin City"

LOL

I remember when the Kings River overflowed and there was flood water half-way to Caruthers. I wonder how much flooding Riverdale received that year.

Now, we pay a bill to Raisin City Irrigation District but ..... we get no water and have no canals. I'm not sure why we need an Irrigation District when we have no irrigation water and no way to get it if we did.

Just another government agency. :)

They have pictures up at the Piedra post office showing the Kings River flood. I think Doyal’s Market was inundated. It looked really messy! Hopefully the dam stopped all that.

I remember driving the levee from Helm to Caruthers? Riverdale? with the river on the left anfd flood waters on the right and no place to turn around and the tank on the folks 41 Chevy near zero but we did have a bottle of Mogan David wine we traded for at a labor camp with a dead Possum.

We made it back to Helm to find the road closed to San Joaquin so we had go to Five points to Manning home. We did not siphon gas from that pump!!! It was the early 50s...
