Well, the evidence is pretty strong that the polls are even more moronic than usual this year, yes? Iowa behind Penn State after beating them? Oregon behind Cal after beating them? LSU #4 after playing no one and not showing themselves particularly good? Another article for showing how dumb this system is: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news;_ylt=ApqSnz3FtQcdmLDeMCfseKkcvrYF?slug=dw-bcs092909&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
Well, since you brought it up:
Top 10 by total number of bowl wins
Rank Team Wins
1 Alabama 31 Southern Cal
3 Penn State 26
4 Georgia 25 Texas Tennessee
7 Oklahoma 24
8 Georgia Tech 22 Nebraska
10 LSU 21
Georgia Tech and LSU (not to mention Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee) have more bowl victories (you know, those games where one usually has a decent opponent aka not Central or Northern Michigan) than any of the Penn State-less "big" 10. "Big" Bloop is nowhere to be found--as usual.
Still living in the past? Maybe it’s that crow still refusing to be digested.
But since virtually all of the head to head games with UM against the SEC have been bowls........I might remind you of that pesky and oh so unfortunate (for your "superior league theory") 11-2 record........
:-)
Ceptin if you lose to a certain team (that must not be named) that begins with "A" wid de debil hissef for a a coach......
:-)
Gotta give the devil his due, he is a fine coach. He is a miserable and despicable person but he isn't paid to be nice. Good thing he isn't or he'd be homeless. He isn't nice to anyone, not even to his players and especially not when they lose. He refuses to speak to them, refuses to sit with on the plane or at the next meal when they lose. There is no disgrace in a loss to a Saban coached team. I truly hate it but in the end, no matter what the scoreboard says, he is the loser.
Revenge is suhweet!
:-)
Oh, absolutely and if possible, it was even sweeter that it happened in the Dome in a Sugar Bowl (pun unintended). LOL. It wasn’t a case of Alabama not playing well, or having to play without some of their best players. Their really great Alabama team came to play, they just got beat. They could not adjust and could not defend their QB.
I'm ashamed to say this, but..........Do you know who came closest to beating them last year?
Just wondering if any of you play basketball? http://www.thefrisky.com/post/246-how-to-date-a-tall-chick/
:-)
“Honestly, I dont totally get why men get so flummoxed about wooing skyscraper-sized women.” she says
Well, easy.
People tend to speak at their eye level.
She’s 6’1” or so.
That puts my 5’5” eye level somewhat below hers.
And into the range of “Those don’t have eyes you know”.
And the male brain, being hardwired to notice certain things, gets easily distracted by them.
Hence, flummoxed.
You get distracted by necks?
Heh heh heh............
Sharky.. necks ain’t what’s at my eye level.
I think I’m into chin music..........
LOL, careful saying that around rabbits.
When a bunny chins something, he’s marked it as his.
Oh boy..... No basketball here, at least not for many years and wasn’t very good at it, even though I could practically just drop the ball in .... lol
*mental image fade in.. sound: heavy titanic footfalls. View zooms in on metal shod feet stomping their way across the basketball court, players make vain attempts to leap out of the way only to be crushed to junior varsity jelly. View zooms out to show mechanized warsuit hulking aross the court, ball in hand while backhand slapping people out of the way. Driver laughing maniacally. Makes three point reach out and drop in from half court. “I win, flawless victory!”*
Being that I’m short, the above is a slight dramatization.
