Tell me that was only a course or two.

It turns out to be fairy easy to let students develop their style. Once in a while I’m tempted and even blurted one out once, and retracted it instantly.

I was stopped in my tracks reading Cardy’s word for it, “nurturing,” is so perfect.

They can’t create if they haven’t explored and you can’t explore much when you’re forced to copy someone else.

You are right, of course.

But, some, like this one (The Empty People, 1976) - four years before the war started - does show a depth of despair (IMHO):

And, this one - two years after the war (The Forgotten - 1990) seems to show a hollow, empty lonliness:

Funny that we see nothing painted by him since 1990.......

Actually, when I saw the "Empty People" my first thought was, I used to draw suits like that when I was a kid. Learning how to show tension lines at the button holes and arms. Sort of fabric drawing 101. Knowing he was self taught I thought we all went thru that stage at about ten years old. Unfortunately, that is as far as I ever went.

On the other hand it probably was just a social commentary on his realization of all the empty suits in high positions.

This is one I like very much.

Your mind, as usual, is in the potty.

I wasn't considering droppings, rather the joy of road kill......

VENKMAN
Mr. Mayor, it’s a pretty simple choice.
You can believe Mr. Pecker here ...

PECK
(snaps)
That’s “Peck!”

VENKMAN
(ignores him)
... or you can accept the fact that this
city is heading for a disaster of really
Biblical proportions.

MAYOR
What do you mean “Biblical?”

VENKMAN
Old Testament, Mr. Mayor. “Wrath of
God”-type stuff. The seas could boil, fire
and brimstone falling from the sky ...

STANTZ
(chimes in)
... forty years of darkness, earthquakes,
mass hysteria, human sacrifice ...

MAYOR
Enough! I get the point.
(really torn)
But what if you’re wrong?

VENKMAN
If I’m wrong then nothing happens and you
toss us in the can. But if I’m right, and
if we can stop this thing ... well, let’s
just say that you could save the lives of a
lot of registered voters.

Your appreciation for being run over is highly appreciated.

Get ready to write that poem now...........as Brady brings them to 19-0, dashing the hopes of lip gloss hating mascots worldwide......

This poem???

The lights are a flashin’
The whistle is blowin’
The bells are a clanging in vain
If you stay on the tracks
Ignoring the facts
You can’t blame the wreck on the train!

I'm really in a snit now!

I hate Baltimore!

And it's snot nosed liberals!

President Bush is in town today and his motorcade passed right by the building I work in (Social Security Administration), and I wasn't able to at least get out there and wave to him as he passed by.

my supervisor had me doing aged cases.

But my bozo co workers are all whining about the city traffic being blocked up due to the visit

what are they most worried about?

getting thier lunch on time!

Makes me wonder, if (God forbid) we get a Dem president and he decides to come to Baltimore, will they be complaining as much about the inconvienience?
