I grew up in New England.

The Patriots used to be the keystone cops of the NFL.

I remember 1972. I was 15.

I look at it like this.

They are playing this year to regain their honor.

What should they have done? Given up? Gone home?

They made a mistake, took the punishment and turned their shame into one hell of a season so far.

I can think of worse ways to try to handle it.

That’s true, it’s the same team and then again, in some ways it doesn’t seem to be the same team.

The old team, Boston Patriots, Patriot Pat on the helmet, red jerseys,

The new team, silver helmets, New England Patriots.

Babe Parilli, Nick Buonicontti too, I think was a Patriot. He may have been on that Dolphin team as well.

I don’t know if the Pats played in the weakest division with the Bills, Jets and Miami but it wasn’t a real strong one either.

No. they're amazing. They took the penalty and moved on with an undefeated season. It was the stiffest fine in NFL history though.

All I said was that in hindsight, it would have been better if it hadn't been marred by Belichick's underhanded unsportsmanlike choices.
