We missed out on telling the best stories. Really, I don't want to hear the stories. It sounds like they're trying to turn American Idol into the NBC Olympics. It's all the backstories that ruin the Olympics for me. All those heart-tugging, emotional vignettes. I hate them. That's why I stopped watching the Olympics. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like having my emotions manipulated that way. Just show us the singing, or skating, or whatever. Stop with the backstories.

Stop with the backstories. Idol tried it without backstories last season and it was a disaster. When they finally got to the semi-finals, we were looking at people that (mostly) we had never seen before.
So, I agree the backstories can be manipulative, but they are useful in identifying with the contestants and making them memorable.

Hey, is it true that Angie and Jessie are back on AMC? I used to watch that 20+ years ago with my dad, on two different coasts!
I saw her (Debbie Morgan) in the ladies room at SFO Airport years ago - she was replacing her contacts. She’s a little thing!

Yes, Angie and Jessie are also back on 1/18. I feel bad for the actress who replaced Rebecca Budig as Greenlee - she sure got shafted. Mario Van Peeples also joins the cast 1/29.
