The work and determination required to succeed in the arts and garner the right attention is unbelievable. I want to watch great talent, period. Maybe they should only have contestants that do have histories of previous recording contracts. That way they could guarantee no greenhorns. No one without previous experience. No dead weight at the beginning. Make it fair and a tight competition right out of the gate.

Well, whatever fiery hoops it took to get here, they’ve all earned their spot.

I’ll say Colton Berry and Garrett Haley will be the first two to go(although I don’t remember anything about Garrett, so that’s really a wild guess.)

And of the girls I’ll guess Alaina Whitaker and Amy Davis will be the first two to go.

And of the girls Ill guess Alaina Whitaker and Amy Davis will be the first two to go. I'll pick Jason Castro and Garret Haley for the guys and Syesha Mercado and Alaina Whitaker for the gals.
The only reason I'm picking Syesha so early is that I'm wondering if her voice can take the strain.
These first two weeks belong to the judges though so I think they take into account that they only get to ditch 4 guys and 4 gals when they select the top 24.

I'll pick Jason Castro and Garret Haley for the guys and Syesha Mercado and Alaina Whitaker for the gals. This will be the first night that I think we've heard half of these guys sing.
But I'll pick Garret Haley (he's got dead weight written all over him) and Colton Berry because I think Governor Kyle deserved his spot in the Top 24.
For the girls, I'll pick Lushington and one of the blondes ... maybe Brooke White.

It’s going to be interesting to see how many play instruments tonight, too and how that comes into play.
