Obama and the United Church of Christ...Why is he given a pass?

I was raised in a rock solid, mainstream middle-class, middle- American home with two loving parents. We accepted our faith as being something personal therefore was kept as such. I see the Godless DemocRAT run media, ACLU and churches with activist agendas, posing as Christian bodies. I was raised in the UCC (United Church of Christ) of which i belonged to a Congregational Church. As the UCC became more liberal, I had to become more "defensive" of my conservative beliefs. We see the GOP hammered on their faith, but not Obama or the Clintons. The UCC is supposedly "all inclusive." Bunk! Not if you're a Conservative. I entertain your thoughts. The Great OZ wants to know........why is it this way?

Our congregation left the UCC 6 years ago.
Too liberal - enough said.

Its real simple. We need a new church for conservatives.

I am sure you can think up a good name for it.

but in the USA it could be something like:

The Constitutional Conservative Christian Fellowship, or something like that. No Sodomites or Democrats allowed.

Amen to that. I served as a Deacon for years and can even recall a movement within the UCC (an alliance of lesbians, left wingers, etc, to delete OUR FATHER from the Lord’s Prayer. Enough was indeed enough.

I was a member of a UCC church for about 4 months last year and left cause I was conservative and that church is waaay too liberal for my views. The members LOVED Obama and bragged all the time that he was a member of that denomination.

I agree with you. I served on the vestry of an Episcopal Church and resined my position and left the church because of its blatantly anti-scriptural direction. I am becoming involved in the new structure of the Episcopal Church becoming allied with more conservative Anglican bishops. I am finding life and orthodoxy there and am very happy. It was so hard to leave the old church, but so necessary. I wish you well.

My comment is aimed at NO ONE! We are Freepers and it is our inherit responsiblility to bring "facts to the table" and let each decide for themselves.

I have read on this post and a couple of others, comments that 'distracted from the facts.' I have read comments that have been diametrically opposed . . . . and for a good reason - - - they (each) are quoting from the same 'basic source" yet (shall we say from different days) the source has changed!
