If you’re just looking for something to help with vocabulary, there are Greek and Latin roots workbooks or games out there that are really good. I did some of that in middle school and it really increased my vocabulary. I never did a Latin curriculumn so I can’t suggest any there... I believe the Roots book we used was “English from the Roots Up”.
I’d forgotten about “English From the Roots Up”! It’s a terrific book, and the kids and I enjoyed using that one, even though we never went though the whole thing.
It was 39 degrees overnight, and the high today is only supposed to be 58. But it will be a good 'working outside in the yard' day. SirKit will be on Gimli digging a trench for drainage. We're eventually going to put some stairs in the area of the yard where the side slopes down to the back, so folks can get to the flat back yard from the side of the house. We needed to provide for drainage so frost doesn't heave the stairs up someday.
This all began because we wanted a place to dump the sand we removed from the trailer so we could get a load of gravel, but we still wanted the sand accessible so we can mix concrete. Since we needed to dig that area out for the stairs anyway, we decided to put the sand there.
I'm hoping that after this next spell of rain, we can get back to the deck. I told SirKit and Joseph I wanted a deck with the hot tub installed for Mother's Day. ;o) We're gonna have to work FAST, since that's only two weeks away. Realistically, I don't think it's gonna happen, but at least I can light a fire!
