Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Nana update: She’s doing a little better. She was coherent enough to tell the doctor the last time Not Valerie visited. And she’s eating a little better. Still not where she needs to be but better.
She’s going back to the nursing home tomorrow.
Rosie, just ask them for the VIN, telling them you need to do some checking on financing, and the bank needs it to accomplish that. The bank wants that so they can see all of the options, etc. on the car in order to determine value, from which they can determine how much they can lend you.
Absolutely, you wouldn't have wanted it to go to waste! ;o) I think Starbucks beans are the most spendy I've ever gone, though we have a coffee roaster company in the next town over. Maybe I'll go over there sometime to check it out.
I'm feeling slightly better, but my head feels like it's about to explode at points because of my sinuses. But I'm taking my amoxil and tylenol, so I'm hoping I'll feel better by tomorrow night. We have rehearsal for "Shadow of the Cross", which our Parish choir along with some folks from two other parishes in our area will perform on Friday night.
Hope you get some answers at your Nephrology appt!
Well...that’s at least *better* news. Which is maybe the best that can be expected.
Hope she at least gets to eating better soon!
Good that they were able to hold it for you.
So...if for some reason I do end up getting the same model, same options, but different VIN, do you think the bank would give me a hard time about switching?
Wanting to know the exact options and all makes sense...so there’s that.
I just know the dealership is gonna want me to commit tonight. As in at least sign something, even if I put off the final sale for a bit. And I’m going to have to be forceful if I want to put that off. :-\ Not that these folks are super high pressure, but even so...
*snort* We had a ground hog, woodchuck, whatever in our back yard a couple of summers ago. He was chowing down on some tall weeds at the edge of the woods. That’s the only time I ever saw him. That was the same summer that the Mama turkey and her three poults wandered into the yard. We had some juicy weeds, I guess.
I guess you’ll just have to be prepared to lose the car, and be sure to give the salesman that impression. ;o)
Just tell him that you’re doing as much research as you can, and you’ll make the decision when you’re satisfied.
The bank will have to have the other VIN to finalize the paperwork, but you can write the contract for the car contingent on getting the financing.
I’m probably being a lot more hesitant than it makes sense to be, considering I’ve all but made up my mind to do this. :-\
It’s not exactly something I do every day, though. Probably won’t ever do it agin, either.
If yer gonna drive this car for the next 60-70 years, make sure it's what you want...
*snort*
I just mean I doubt I’ll ever buy *new* again.
But...hey...that’d be cool, wouldn’t it?
and she only drove it to church on Sunday and to Saturday night jam sessions...
Heh...
In other news, my cell phone is back. Yay!
Your cell phone kilt it.
Sooorry...
I just talked to the bank, and they quoted me an APR a couple of full points lower than the one the dealer was tossing around.
I guess it pays to check a bit.
If that goes through...well...I may do this pretty quickly.
Scary.
Yeah. Always scary to drop that much cash without months and months of planning. But if it is the right car then it is. Nice thing about the APR being lower.
