So...if for some reason I do end up getting the same model, same options, but different VIN, do you think the bank would give me a hard time about switching?

Wanting to know the exact options and all makes sense...so there’s that.

I just know the dealership is gonna want me to commit tonight. As in at least sign something, even if I put off the final sale for a bit. And I’m going to have to be forceful if I want to put that off. :-\ Not that these folks are super high pressure, but even so...

I guess you’ll just have to be prepared to lose the car, and be sure to give the salesman that impression. ;o)
Just tell him that you’re doing as much research as you can, and you’ll make the decision when you’re satisfied.

The bank will have to have the other VIN to finalize the paperwork, but you can write the contract for the car contingent on getting the financing.
