Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I've been reading through old Hobbit Hole stuff tonight when I should be tidying. I lied - I actually bought the van in *late* 2003, in November, so it hasn't quite been five years.
Funny, even then, right after I bought it, I posted about the (then brand new) Matrix, which is the Toyota twin of the Vibe.
I may or may not be able to take a look tomorrow. The cable guy is coming some time in the morning...but it could be any time. And in the afternoon, I'll be out of town if all goes well. Checking out a jam about an hour south of here.
So we'll see.
Some of the old stuff cracks me up. We haven't had a serious pick-on-Jen rant in awhile...I guess we done trained her...
Heh!
We were all so excited about Entmoot coming up at that point, too! Fun reading the posts. We have to do that again someday...
Bah, I’m just not so fun to pick on anymore.
I think we need a new young apprentice to bash around. ;-)
I’m working on it ;-)
It's been a momentous five years - for many folks, in any case!
We certainly do!
The Pontiac Vibe and Toyota Corolla Matrix share everything but the hood ornaments, bascally. The body shape will be the same.
If it matters to you, the Matrix is available in all-wheel drive. I don’t know about the Vibe.
I know about this because I worked for Toyota from October 1, 1999, to March 17, 2008.
Are we in a time warp again? lol
Ah yes! Indeed! :~)
That was a blast to read :~)
;-)
Cool that all your pictures are still there! I used my ISP account back then, so anything I posted is gone. I don’t think I posted many pictures anyhow though. No camera.
I’m up...tidying, drinkin’ coffee, eating breakfast. I’m hoping the cable guy comes closer to eight than noon, so I have time to do some stuff before heading south to that jam!
The Vibe’s available with AWD, too. Since I’m buying used, though, and I don’t see many of those, I don’t think I’d get my heart set on that.
Actually, the one I posted is about the only one with what I want that I’ve seen around. So we’ll see.
If it drives like my old car, I’m going to be highly tempted.
About an hour till we lose the water... You landlord called last night to tell us to tell you because he doesn’t have your number ;~)
Do you want to bring Cisco over here so he’s not under foot with the cable guy?
What’s the story with this jam?
It *would* be nice if I could get Cisco a bit out of the way! I should get a call from the cable folks shortly before they arrive. Maybe I could run him over then?
And at some point, I’d like to pick up the wireless router...
Landlord *should* have my number. I’ve given it to him enough times!
It’s a monthly deal, down in Winlock, at a grange hall down there. Mostly fiddle tunes, it sounds like, which works for me - and it’s in the afternoon, one to five, so I don’t have to drive at night, which is another plus! I figure it’ll take about an hour to get there, since it’s a way off the road.
One of the guys on the guitar list I’ve been on (and off and on and off and on) for years hosts it. He also gives lessons...I’m kind of thinking I might do that at some point, too.
I actually met some of the folks that come to the jam when I went down to the concert awhile back...remember that? We all stood around talking for quite awhile afterwards, and some of them are also on the guitar list. So there’ll be a few semi-familiar people.
Sure... come on over whenever :~)
Barkley can have a play day.
And the router... whenever you won’t need it any more! You still going to use it there, so you can walk around while you post? :~)
Well the jam sounds fun. :~)
