The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I haven't seen
To Wong Fu, but I have seen
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and that's a really good one. Kind of poignant, I must say.
But one of the funniest 'cross dressing' movies I've ever seen was Connie and Carla. Just a real hoot!

Yep ... Wesley Snipes, who made his name in Hollywood playing alpha males, and John Leguizamo, who is a chameleon of the first water.
Miss Vida is such a hoot ... she rescues a friend from the friend's abusive husband, beats the tar out of the guy, while wearing satin pajamas and high heeled mules with feathers on the vamp, and never smudges her makeup. Noxeema Jackson's (Wesley Snipes' character) explanation? "Vida works out."
Great flick.

And Victor/Victoria. James Garner was so hilarious as the love-stupid tough guy!

I'll definitely have to get that one from Netflix! Leguizamo is truly a chameleon, and a fine actor! I hate to hear that about Patrick Swayze. I've always liked him, though I've not seen that many of his movies. Never wanted to see Ghost, seemed way too maudlin for me.

I thought that Some Like It Hot was considered the best in this category.

Tony Curtis and Marilyn? The all-girl band on a train? Oh, yeah, that one rocks, too!
And don't forget Dr. Frank N. Furter ...!
There's something inherently funny about straight men trying to act like women. Remember Barney Miller, and the hilarity that would ensue when one or more of the detectives had to dress up as women and strive to be mugging bait?

Staying up way too late. Buster Keaton's part in Some Like It Hot was hilarious.

There's something girly about it that appeals to me ... Nisson does a good job with design - very "image"-friendly!
It *is* cute!

Honda’s certainly are durable - and don’t knock the Element until you give it a close inspection. There’s some excellent thought and engineering that went into it - putting the “utility” back into SUV. It came down to price when we bought our Jeep Liberty, but the Element was in the running. Jeep was trying to sell vehicles and willing to deal; Honda was busy tacking “novelty” charges onto the sales price. Bah.
To: SuziQ
Have you thought about a Subaru station wagon? If I could find a really good price on one, yes, I would *so* be there. It's worth keeping an eye out for one. They hold their value really well, so it's hard to find one in my price range, but if I did, it could be worth the wait.
Ugh...I had a horrible dream about a fire. I *hate* fire dreams.
To: Lil'freeper
I actually really like Elements...I get ridiculed for my tastes is all. ;-)
I don’t think I need something that big this go ‘round, though.

Subarus are nice, my grandmother has one. It’s nice and roomy.

Yeah...they are roomy. I know a number of really talk folks who like them just for that reason. And they’re super popular in Vermont because they handle pretty much any road condition well.
like I said yesterday, my dream car is probably a brand new Subaru Forester. Heh...
But they’re expensive.

Dirty Dancing was filmed near my hometown (the resort and lake).

Oh dear...
They *are* kind of the new Volvo wagon in that regard, aren’t they?
