The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

He’s been fine. We stopped giving him the muscle relaxers on Sunday, I think, and he appears to be all back to normal! Freak incident I think.

That’s good news. Like you thought, he must have just slept on it wrong, poor pup. LSA

He fixed it now but it might be 24 hours till the dns propogates back out, or somethingorother.

As the resident pentecostal, I'll just wait for the interpretation.

Waiting for email from the Mrs. She's apparently somewhere where she can't call out. I couldn't understand her on my cell or the house phone.

She wasn’t just speaking in tongues?

She had been given the gift of silence.

She figgered it out. Apparently she’d turned off the Bluetooth, but not told the Crackberry about it.

Heh...been there, done that.

My newest phone has a Bluetooth thing I can use. It works great. Trouble is that I often forget that it’s plugged in and try to answer the phone directly, which, if you don’t press the precise sequence of buttons (and I never do) answers the phone on the Bluetooth headset...which is usually across the room where I can’t find it. So the caller can’t hear me and I can’t hear them. Ugh. You’d think I’d be better with technology than I am.

In other news, my face and head still hurt. If’n I take more Sudafed, I might be able to write all night instead of sleeping, but I’m thinking that wouldn’t be good for the workday tomorrow. And I’m not sure it’s really helping matters anyhow.

An Australian Shepherd won the Herding group. Isn't that what Jack and Sadie are?

Close! They're Australian Cattle Dogs. Shepherd and Cattle Dog. The shepherds are actually an American invention. They have longer coats, pale eyes, and are good family dogs. Cattle dogs have shorter coats, more muscular bodies, and aren't the best family dogs in the world. Both breeds are athletic, have strong herding instincts, and need a lot of exercise.

The 15" Beagle won the Hound group. He's just a cutie!

I do love beagles.

I was tryin' to find something red in my closet to wear in honor of Saudi Arabia's "don't wear red" ban. But I can't quite convince myself that I could get away wearing my red Chuck Taylors to Fangorn...but...

Happy Valentine's Day All!

...We got four slices of cheescake, two plain cups of coffee and it cost us $45.00 including tip at the Cheesecake Factory. :-O...

OHMUHGAWD!! That's outrageous! But at least it was free money.

I like credit cards that pay points. I'm cashing mine in on $100 Sears gift cards every time I get enough. A new freezer is what I've got in mind for those. I like to get Home Depot cards too. I buy all my bedding plants in the spring and fall with those.
