Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Very, very nice. You have my admiration!
Praying for your family here LF. Take care.
We've had lots of interesting fauna back there. I've seen a Red Fox, a groundhog, and a Mama turkey and her three poults, but I've never seen deer in our woods in the twenty years we've lived here! But it could be they've gone through there and we've just never seen them. I knew there were some in the area, because I've seen them crossing the street behind and below us, as we've driven it. We saw one bounding across the street one Christmas Eve, on our way to 4:30 Mass! That was exciting for the kids, cause they were little at the time.
Hah! We’ve got some, but not too many!
Just lovely; are those knitted, or crocheted? It’s a pretty pattern.
They’re in the woods around us. Once or twice I’ve seen them in the yard when it was really dry.
I guess the groundhog saw its shadow last week.
Back home they practically come up to the back patio. I dang near got nailed by one in the driveway once.
we've got 'maters sproutin' in the sunroom...
Most unusual for this time of year, but high winds have sparked (no pun intended) major brush fires all across the state. Monitor-Merrimac Bridge Tunnel closed in Hampton Roads, I-95 closed north of Richmond. Part of I-81 closed near Roanoke. Tractor trailer overturned on 295 South of Richmond (due to winds).
Some 24,000 people in Metro Richmond lost power this afternoon.
Her blood pressure kicked up again. She had Steve take her to the fire department, where the paramedics measured her at 200/122. They sent her to a minor emergency clinic, where they took her pressure, then called an ambulance.
She's been admitted, but is still in the emergency section while they try to find her a room. Steve brought her the portable, so as soon as she gets settled, she'll be FReeping.
Prayers up!
Good grief Rose. I hope she can get that settled down.
Good grief to that too Corin.
Hobbit Hole, stay safe tonight. Lots of scary things happening.
Corin - fire alert: shovel, bucket, hardhat, gloves, boots in the truck. Check.
Rose - thanks very much for the update. Glad Steve got her to fire station.
2J - Stay safe and get well soon.
hmmm. maters. Sounds like you may get some weather your way.
Gee whiz...a diastolic number that high is into stroke territory, isn’t it? Scary! I’m glad she had Steve get her to help! Hope this time they *finally* figure out what’s up!!
Praying for ya, 2J! Thanks for letting is know, Rose!
WooHoo, home done 'maters!
Our #1 son, Paul, and his girlfriend showed up this evening, out of the blue. They'd had dinner with her parents and when they left there, they realized they were only 20 minutes from our house, so they brought cheesecake! Sarah's Mom had made it, and it tasted like caramel; WOW was it good! They stayed about an hour, then headed out because Paul has work and Sarah has school tomorrow. It was good seeing them.
