The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Yeah, was just saying that to my brother last night. Sure, he might mess up the war but honestly the war ISN’T everything. At some point getting hit by another attack is actually worth still having a country I want to live in.

Okay, let’s not go around the bend here...

Not sure it is around the bend. If I can’t pull the lever for McCain, and I’m not yet sure I can, I wouldn’t mind an actual protest vote. It would be like saying “none of the above”.

True, but I cannot let Hillary win. Obama would not be as bad but I would never allow him to be CIC.

No, I think Obama is the scarier of the two. He would have us pulling out of Iraq before he started the drive down Independence Avenue.

As much as I don’t trust Hillary, I would expect her to have a more careful approach to foreign policy.

I can respect that point of view but - I’m young and ideal, I still like to think of voting for something and not just against something.

I had argued myself to the point where I could pull the lever for anyone but McCain or Huckabee. Yuck.

Continually arguing myself into someone stinkier and stinkier all the while saying ‘anything to stop ‘them’’... Ugh, it is getting old. At some point ‘the lesser’ is not enough and I have to say I agreed with something I am signing my name too.

I’m only two years older than you and I agree, but all we have left is our principles.

How’s everyone doing on writing goals?

I’ve done well as far as getting in a bit every day...not so well at actually getting in more than a few words a day. It’s something, though, I guess.

I need more paper. Mmmm...paper...

I have done a little... er, not every day. This cold has made almost nothing fun for almost 2 weeks not :P

I agree with that. You’re right.

But then on the way to work this morning I became so sick of hearing about all this that I actually switched over to Dr. Laura. I can’t ~stand~ Dr. Laura. But it was easier to listen to, somehow.

More ammo today.

I’ve added... maybe a thousand words. But I did figure out something important. Ditto what Talon says re: cold.

Something to consider in new weapons, from here on out, is to make sure you have a few things in calibers for which ammo will be easiest to find after the revolution starts.

:-)

5.56, 7.62, .45, 9mm, .308... stuff like that should be reasonably easy to find, whether its from the “free” part of the military that joins with us, or taken in raids on the Praetorian Guard armories.

I’m only partly kidding. :-)
