It's the most wonderful time of the year...With my Utes winning bowl games and BYU losing so I'll be of good cheer...it's the most wonderful time of the year...
--Ow! Tomatoes hurt you know. Sheesh...
During the regular season, I would normally do my fancy and mildly humorous graphical elements and those of you who would like me to feature their school's games, I would oblige. However, since we've got miles to go before we sleep, I'll re-ping the list as we go along and include said graphics. Sound like a deal? Excellent.
Tomorrow the fun will begin. (For me, at least). :)
There was a college coach who once said something like this:
The game isn’t over until the clock shows 00.00 and the whistle blows.

Man, that is the truth!
According to Gerry Ahern of Yahoo Sports, this is the reason why Georgia wasn’t picked to play in the Rose Bowl against SC (BTW, he’s not the only analyst who has said this):
“The BCS did its best to seal the Trojans’ fate by pitting them against Illinois instead of Georgia in the Rose Bowl. The RIGGED system hoped to quell any chance for controversy over the validity of the Jan. 7 championship game. Instead it served to deny the nation a more interesting Rose matchup that would have better quantified how good USC and Georgia are.”
My son and his wife were at the Tech game..I was feeling really sorry for them there for a long while..Tech pulled another miracle this year!

Knowshawn Moreno and Tony Temple have picked up their game, though.
You really don’t know much about SEC football, do you? When I told hubby before last night’s game what you said about SEC and speed, he guffawed. And laughed and laughed. He said, Georgia’s in the top 2 fastest teams in college football this year. You don’t get faster in a few weeks. You don’t win football games against a defensive line that is faster and stronger than your offensive line, especially when your secondary can match your receivers stride for stride. (makes me think of Antonio Langham and a “faster” Miami team a few years back) The defensive coach for Georgia has done an excellent job with that team. I thought they were much more disciplined last night than when I watched them early in the season. Early in the season, I thought they were all thugs and that they played as dirty as Miami of old.
Rose Bowl committee deserves to be shot for not IMPLORING Georgia to play SC in Pasadena. That would have been the bowl game of the season.
Grrrrrrrrrr.
Tell them congratulations for a great Tech win!
But Georgia had two losses and did not win the SEC. Everyone was complaining about Georgia playing Hawaii because Hawaii was undefeated and deserved to play for the championship. And Hawaii was so much faster than Georgia. Georgia would never be able to hang with them. What a crock. Good defense wins games. Sorry Hawaii never had the chance to play against real defensive teams this year. Georgia’s offense ran all over Hawaii’s defense.
The worst matchup I saw yesterday was the Misery/Rkansas game. Horrible pairing. Michigan/Florida was a good matchup. Florida played horribly, and Michigan won in the end. It’s almost never good to have a Heisman winner on your team during bowl season.
Here’s a good article from ESPN about last night’s game. Take note of all the talk about speed and the SEC.

Franki Valli and the Four Seasons are singing the National Anthem? Hmmmm...I take it Herman’s Hermits weren’t available.
BOOMER SOONER!
I hated it when they started it, but warmed up to it by the time they finished.
Loved the eagle in flight more!
The eagle flying in was cool. One of these days I’ll get to hear Ted Nugent sing the anthem on national TV...one of these days...
Boy I hope tonight is better than the last 2 games yesterday. Nothing compares yet to what we saw last year either in style and substance. 10 years from now we will be on a bowl thread reminising about that Boise State win.
Great rendition of the anthem by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. I grew up listening to that stuff and it never gets old.
