It's the most wonderful time of the year...With my Utes winning bowl games and BYU losing so I'll be of good cheer...it's the most wonderful time of the year...
--Ow! Tomatoes hurt you know. Sheesh...
During the regular season, I would normally do my fancy and mildly humorous graphical elements and those of you who would like me to feature their school's games, I would oblige. However, since we've got miles to go before we sleep, I'll re-ping the list as we go along and include said graphics. Sound like a deal? Excellent.
Tomorrow the fun will begin. (For me, at least). :)
It has been worth every penny! Sell a kidney if you have to next time.....

Oh, I’ll have to, but I was kind of setting my sights on my video blog contest idea where I go on the road and see a game and tailgate with the winning FReeper’s school. Hmmmm...I might just do that. :)
Nobody thought too much of Brady when he was at Michigan. I think I would take Henne with a low pick and hope he stays healthy.
Sugar Bowl. Hawaii/Georgia coming up NEXT!!
BTW, is that Fran Tarkenton on FOX’s pregame show with Jimmy Johnson? Sweet, where’s John Davidson and Cathy Lee Crosby?
Let’s go Hawaii!
What the USC blow out makes me think is that Georgia should have been invited to the Rose Bowl. I gather they did not do that because they did not know if Georgia people would travel to Caifornia (Georgia has not played a game outside the southeast since 1966 - they play at Arizona St in september). I think that if LSU had not gotten to the championship game they might have gotten an invite to the rose bowl to play USC.
I’m not optimistic about it, but I would like to see Hawaii win this one so the hopes of non-BCS schools aren’t set back a good decade or so by them losing.
(Although I do have to admit, UGA’s black uni’s are, in the words of my Dad, “pretty slick.”)
And to think 90% of the espn.com had Florida winning this game.
I think it was Vince Dooley (former UGA coach) who said people who try to pick games in college are crazy. He said the QB could have had a big arguement with his girlfriend on thursday night and he's not totally there for the game on saturday.
Please see my post 638 to see why this was ruled out by the BCS rules.
I think biggirl was being a little bit sarcastic. But southerners are generally a bit on the anal side about these things. LOL!
I believe USC lost to Oregon.
Is that the Browns out there playing Hawaii?
Illinois traveled well....they get the same amount of money from ABC.... Why not stick with tradition.
The only fiasco they had was when the Parade and Rose Bowl/BCS final was on different days...the Texas fans didnt arrive for New Years so the hotels werent full....then because there was no parade on game day, fans drank all day for the really late kickoff and there were a bunch of fights and heart attacks on a really hot day.
Oh boy, UH is melting down in a bad way...
Of course, the Texas / USC game deemed one of the best ever....but they didnt make as much money on it.
Looks like that UH player picked the wrong day to stop taking something...needs a chill pill
Team-Selection Procedures
The bowls will select their participants from two pools: (1) automatic qualifiers, all of which must be selected, and,
(2) at-large teams, if fewer than 10 teams qualify automatically. The following sequence will be used when establishing pairings:
1. The top two teams in the final BCS Standings will be placed in the National Championship Game ("NCG").
2. Unless they qualify to play in the NCG, the champions of selected conferences are contractually committed to host selected games:
Atlantic Coast Conference-Orange Bowl
Big Ten Conference-Rose Bowl
Big 12 Conference-Fiesta Bowl
Pac-10 Conference-Rose Bowl
Southeastern Conference-Sugar Bowl
3. If a bowl loses a host team to the NCG, then such bowl shall select a replacement team from among the automatic-qualifying teams and the at-large teams before any other selections are made. If two bowls lose host teams to the NCG, each bowl will get a replacement pick before any other selections are made. In such case, the bowl losing the No. 1 team gets the first replacement pick, and the bowl losing the No. 2 team gets the second replacement pick. If the Rose Bowl loses both the Big Ten and Pac-10 champions to the NCG, it will receive two replacement picks.
A bowl choosing a replacement team may not select any of the following:
A. A team in the NCG;
B. The host team for another BCS Bowl;
C. When two bowls lose host teams, then the bowl losing the number one team may not select a replacement team from the same Conference as the number two team, unless the bowl losing the number two team consents.
Since that was a Pac 10 ref...that is at least the 3rd helmet to helmet call they have missed this season.
