The Dragonflie's Lair~Thread XLV
Poets of The Lair | November 30, 2007 | Soaring Feather

My Dragonfly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Love today’s picture.

Red Breasted Nuthatches, these are such pretty little birds. I don’t think I’ve seen White Crowned Sparrows, are they only in the South?

Oh, cool down for you!! Glad you are snug and warm. I am thankful I don’t have to go anyplace today, it is raw out there.

Thanks. I will do my best. However, I would like to cut the “Ma Bell” telephone cord. Maybe I will just put the ringer on “Ignore”. LOL.

Last "Fat Cat" I had, fully chose "Rotten Kid" as her favorite.

She got VERY upset with him, when he left for college. When he came home for the first time (Thanksgiving week), she actually hissed at him, & refused to let him near her for about the first couple of hours he was home, &, then, it was all forgiven!...LOL!

When I used to travel extensively overseas, I had to put the suitcase inside the door so that the dog could sniff it. If I got a positive indication that all was well I would go inside. If not, they had to put the dog up until she recognized my voice and such. It made life exciting.

Yup, they do that.

Dogs can get darned odd also. My daughter has an old dog, she grew up with the kids, the hockey played left home when he was fourteen and moved to Canada. Well, when he came home for holidays, the dog would bark and growl all night long, she knew there was someone different in the house and that upset her. She did the same thing when I was there a year ago- I had to move out of my house due to the construction of a new bathroom floor. She kept all of us awake for the first night. They know a lot about what is going on in a house hold.

God BlessUSA has White Crowned Sparrows and I believe she is in NYstate. They migrate here in winter. I had them last winter but they came later this year..I just saw a Nuthatch again but the only way I can really get a good look is to be over by the glass door at the right moment..Zoom they are gone in an instant.

I have ingredients out to make a cake but I am enjoying birdwatching and freeping too much to get started on baking yet.

LOL on the baking. I laid all my stuff out last night, I have a yen to bake cookies. I was going to do that yesterday afternoon, but got involved with movies. Since it is literally years since I have baked cookies some of my ingredients are old, had to go through those and toss them out - not to mix them in with newer stuff.

Well, I think the spirit will move the cookie baking today I don’t want to put all the stuff away without using it.

Bird watching and FReeping is a lot more attractive I will admit.

Oh, so those birds are in the North, well I will ask my kids about them, they live in rural areas and have a huge variety of birds coming to their feeders.

For formal transportation I generally prefer white or black.

For yardwork I use the pickup.

I wish that hat would fit me, but I don’t think I’d ever get it away from that goose, anyway.

Why the outrage? You hardly ever get to wear that jacket.

Wind storms make your hair lively but thunderstorms give it life!
