The Dragonflie's Lair~Thread XLV
Poets of The Lair | November 30, 2007 | Soaring Feather

My Dragonfly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Yellow Snowman!

Now there’s an endangered occupation!

Are you snowed in on your birthday?

I bought some mirror film and put it on windows that face the feeders. You can walk right up to the window and the birds don’t have a clue.

Thank you, for the Birthday wishes, I had fun.
(no, you can NOT see the police report, its filled with innuendo and supposition, unproven in a court of law, as yet.)

A grump, a grouch
a curmudgeon plain as can be
sitting here for all to see
snacking on the couch

Another day wasted there
football games unending it seems
cheering on teams with idiot screams
and dipping chips with care

An afternoon wasted on the TV
assorted sports and old movies galore
looking on channels for even more
mesmerized glass-eyed by all I see

Snowed in, not really, but there is a chance today
(and Nancy is driving home to take me out to dinner)

We always go out in the worst of weather it seems, guess we are just adventurers at heart. (that, or we’re nuts!)

Lol, Piper did exactly that when we had 12 inches of snow deep in Texas on Christmas a couple of years ago!

Our snowman was tiny, forgot how much work they are to build BIG!!

Enjoy your birthday dinner with Nancy..I am enjoying our warm spell..Cold weather does not bring snow here..or rarely does..Sleet and ice are more likely and that I avoid driving in.

My glass is tinted so I can usually get up close. That nuthatch grabs a seed and scoots..so getting a really good look has been difficult. My desktop sits right beside the guestroom glass door..I love this spot.

My computer is postioned between two feeders and they can be pretty distracting.

I hear you!
My daughter in law and I were visiting in my bedroom Thanksgiving and the cardinals and squirrels were putting on a show...I said, “This my little bit of paradise” and she agreed. The birds, squirrels and raccoons are so much fun to watch.

“Johnn.....#130!!”

Thank you, nice to know someone noticed all the hard work, dedication, and sly planning to do it while everyone else slept!

“So how was dinner?? Did ya dance with Nan??”

I had a Bourbon Street Steak with Cajun spices, a HUGE baked potato with all the goodies, Broccoli, and Key lime pie.
Nancy had a house steak, Baked potato, seared Garlic and Mushrooms, and a Hot Fudge sundae. No dancing allowed in the restaurant (they threw us out last time, but it MAY have been my nude clog dancing on the bar that pushed the envelope a bit too far!)
