Sorry, but the fusion we're talking about is the fusion seen when two hydrogen atoms fuse into one Helium atom. The energy released is expressed in the formula E=MC2 that Einstein discovered.
If you were to apply that to 1Kg of any material with 100% efficiency the boom would be, shall we say, very big. There would be nothing even resembling a gas anywhere in the vicinity... Plasma, yes. Gas, no. Think Bikini Atoll around 1953. And that wasn't 100% efficient!
Interesting.
As you know from your physics days, the electric field of a dipole drops off to nothing right away but the magnetic field goes way out. Also, if there were a net charge on the sun it would be blowing off a lot of charged particles of either positive or negative charge depending on the net charge on the sun until the net charge balanced to zero.
Re: electric field dipole
You are correct unless the dipole forms into a Birkeland Current in a plasma. Birkeland Currents seem to have no such limits. The plasma, called the perfect conductor, allows the free flow of electrons along with their accompaning magnetic fields. Birkeland Currents are scalable from the micro to the macro to the astronomic... litterally.
Nothing much in open space will impede the flow of electrons or protons. Solar material, ionized, is blown off from the sun and flies out into space at great speed where it travels ballistically, perhaps with some direction due to magnetic fields since the material is protons or electrons and charged, and some hits earth’s mag field and may excite the visible aurora. If there is plasma it is near vacuum and the auroral display is an effect of magnetic focusing.
Thunderbolts will be on Coast tonight. Don’t miss it!
Thunderbolts was on Coast last night. Hope nobody missed it.
I did. Miss it, that is.
It’s much easier to know where they draw the line of reality from the sound of their voices. They really ought to team up with Hoagland.
