Oh, the decidin’s been done. It’s only a question of who files the paperwork first. I have to get home before too long and get a short synopsis this past year’s events to my lawyer.

Bob, you're The Imperial Weatherman, not The Impervious Whatchacallit. You could be The Insidious Welding Master. Or not.

I see I’ve underestimated the power of testosterone and skirling....

You do understand that technically (in the piping world) "skirling" means "bagpipes out of tune"?

DON'T GO THERE.....!!!!!!!

Dinner calls, then bed, then a 6:30 AM teleconference followed by a trip to the airport followed by... many days when I might or might not be able to drop in.

Later, all!

You can do that in your sleep.
Actually, you’d be better off to sleep (with the help of Benedryl) and work on it in the morning, than to try and do it tonight.

Your lawyer won’t be available till tomorrow, anyway, so get a good night’s sleep and give it heck when you have your coffee in the morning!

It doesn’t matter who files the paperwork first. If you’re the Plaintiff or the Defendant, you need a paper trail that points the finger at your ex-partner. If he has reneged on his part of it, you have him cold.

He can THINK he’s got the upper hand, but the paperwork will tell the judge all s/he has to know to decide in your favor.

OK, OK! I know when I’ve been beaten. Forget I said it!
(But how do I know your pipes are in tune?)

Hopefully there will be no judge or jury....my contract had a binding arbitration clause.

He seems to have forgotten that.

If he’s forgotten it, then you don’t have to worry about the outcome of the “lawsuit.”

Don’t remind him. He will be the one with egg on his face.

Just trying to play it cool. There seems to be much he doesn’t know about what I’m doing behind the scenes. It’s fun keep giving him slack with which I can hang him later. And of course, the more crap he pulls, the much easier it’s going to be for me to to cut the lawyer completely loose on him. I would still much rather avoid legal proceedings. He’s just leaving me no choice.

"Bob, you're The Imperial Weatherman, not The Impervious Whatchacallit. You could be The Insidious Welding Master. Or not."

I was a part-time welding inspector. We had a lot riding on the skill of our welders.

Many of them are still at work. The Habs need a lot of refinement.

Some of the welding is done "outside". It's funny to see. First a full-size spiderbot goes out, gives birth to a minibot carrying the electric welding equipment, and then watches motheringly as the welding takes place.

It's all done by teleoperators, of course. But it beats having to suit up and try welding in space, while hanging under the hull of a rotating habitat.

Tech/software could work.

The timbers have a hard “techie” edge to them.

The rope-work is somewhat softer.

I always thought bagpipes where like accordions and always in tune. If I remember last time I saw a piper, dose the top pipes produce the same notes all the time and the lower one is where you produce the melody.

If he begs for it, make him suffer.

(Who SAID that???) LOL!

Some people think they know it all, and that they are impervious to contracts they have signed. These are the people who constantly think they are “victims” and are always thinking of ways to make people “pay.”

As a result, laws are becoming more strict in all walks of life, and contracts are becoming more detailed.

I suspect you are “ready” for him with both barrels!

Er...if they’re “outside,” where do they get the oxygen to weld a good seam? I know there are oxygen tanks, but for a fire to be hot enough for a weld, it needs air.

Like the stuff we breathe, or even the stuff in water. But outer space?
