Winter officially arrives next Saturday. However, another major storm is poised to coat Ottawa, eastern Ontario and western Quebec.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Arnold Ashton tells CFRA News that two to four centimetres of snow are expected to fall by Sunday morning. 30 to 40 centimetres will follow in the afternoon. Then an additional 10 to 15 centimetres will hit the ground before Monday morning.

In total, the region may see 60 centimetres of fresh snow.

Ashton says the city will most certainly break a record for snowfall in a 24-hour period.

To compound poor driving conditions forecasted in the area Sunday, winds are set to fluctuate. Gusts could drop visibility to zero.

I’ll say one thing for Utah: As soon as a storm is predicted, the plows and road crews are ready to go. I’ve even seen the plows working in snowstorms.

I’m never afraid to drive there, no matter what time of year.

When we lived in Alaska, we lived on an island, so we had a mountain in our back yard, and a beach (Pacific Ocean) in our front yard. I liked it!

Yep. John Wayne takes flights until 11 instead of 10, so we lucked out. They called us on the ground a little after 10, and my wife took the little one with so she could use the carpool lane. They got here just after 11.

Grandma is watching cartoons with the kids, and Grandpa is off to Home Depot with wifey to get more painting supplies. We will be DONE painting today. Hopefully floor by tomorrow.

Me....I have to clean the garage to make room for grandpa to work.
