Taking naps with babies in the afternoon is the best ... but today I have to put Vlad to bed and go to the Spanish Mass.
Yep. I agree. Naps with babies is really good for what ails ya!
Maybe. Who wants to know?
I can’t sing any morning. If I did, the glass objects in the room would shatter.
You sing at that high a pitch? Wow. I’m impressed. I sing tenor, because I can’t get any higher.
LOL no, just kidding, I haven’t been able to go that high since I was 14. But high or low, I sound terrible.
I’ve sung tenor since I was 14. In high school, I sat in the bass section.
Acey Duecy?
Ohman. Do I have to say the other part of that?
Didn’t know there was another part.
Oh. Maybe you weren’t in the same navy as my ex-...he was on a tin can.
*whew*
He was on a target.
Ah. No wonder! (LOL!)
On the road again...
Fully Loaded Stake bed truck on the 91....LOOK OUT!
I’m a robust female tenor, myself, especially after a couple glasses of wine :-).
Spanish Mass was great today. We had around 120 people, and the “presentation” of a very pretty 3-year-old girl in a frilly pink dress. It’s a Mexican custom. Some of the Mexican ladies brought tamales (not my favorite Mexican food, but the one I had was above average), and there was cake and some leftover this-n-that from the parish party last night.
Getting dark now, and the temperature is 70. On my way back from dropping Anoreth at church at 5:00, I almost ran over a couple of little boys running in the street in their bathing suits!
YOIKS!! ROTTIE’S LOOSE!!!
(Is that good enough?)
Don’t need wine to sing tenor! LOL! But it does make the music better, anyway. ;o]
I like most of the “authentic” tamales I’ve had, though some have been just a wee bit too spicy for me. Still most have been quite good.
It’s 51 degrees, wind from the NNE @ 16, overcast. Ugly. No one here in bathing suits! At least, not outside! LOL!
These were not spicy, and the Mexicans were definitely authentic. The tamale I ate included chicken and potatoes. Quite tasty, although I’d prefer the same ingredients as chicken and cornbread with gravy!
I used to keep a little bottle of Wild Turkey on top of the organ, when I was singing in the choir in San Antonio. Gave us a little Restorative if anyone in the choir choked up, as can happen in Texas during allergy season :-).
It looks like the Spanish-speaking people are using the parish as an opportunity to host social events on their “milestones,” which I think is fine, since they bring the food! Anything that gets them coming to church regularly is positive. We’ve got a penitential service later this week, and there will be a Spanish-speaking priest available for confessions.
Pat’s gotten so into the Spanish Mass that I’m thinking (unless someone hits me in the head first) of trying to put together a bilingual First Communion class next year.
Well, it is almost done. But what is left can be done on-line. So close enough!
