Hey, Happy Thanksgiving to you and to all here. Not been following things closely lately - but thought I saw a blurb that the Inquest for Daniel is back on - been trying to read back to find out the facts but gotto go to Thanksgiving lunch - sooooooo - if you read this before I return can you please tell me if it’s true that the Bahamian inquest is ON and when will it occur - now - supposedly?

Yes! The inquest is “on” now. It started Mon, 11/19 and they held court for two days, with the all the first witnesses being those who came in direct contact with Daniel his last day/night/day on earth, especially the hospital personnel who tended to him and to Anna.
Howard testified for about 5 minutes, with his head in his hands and intermittent sobbing, as to being the person who identified Daniel’s body over at the morgue at the other hospital.
Evidently, he also said something about the photos he, himself, took of Daniel at death and something about his photos being ones to be used for comparison to Daniel’s body or to photos of Daniel’s body at the morgue or the autopsy lab.
None of the reports about that last part seem to exactly capture what he said or why he said it - it apparently wasn’t in direct reply to any questioning.
Anyway, they are leading up to things chronologically and have called the same witnesses so far that were on the early list we saw. Howard didn’t go last, as he had requested, but that was just a brief intial appearance and he is subject to recall for further questioning, in order as they proceed.
After two days of testimony, they adjourned for the holiday for Americans and will re-convene on Dec. 10 to continue.

Wow! I have really been out of the loop. Thanks very very much for the update. Is Virgie there at the inquest? I am assuming she is. I can’t believe Stern did the sobbing fakery...but then I can. It is very difficult to believe Bahama Government is finally having this inquest. How long has it been since Daniel’s death? Two years? A year? I lose track. Well at least they are having this now. Please ping me or have others ping me when the inquest resumes, ok?

It has been a little over a year, since Sept 10, 2006. Yeag, Virgie was there - I read that she and Howard were both in the courtroom Tuesday, as well.
(Howard wasn’t testifying that day, so I guess they’re letting him “observe” even though he still has more testimony to give. I’m sure he’s taking notes!)

Did something happen that brought the inquest back into existence....I thought I remember hearing/reading that there was a good chance now there would be no inquest at all.....

No, that was Ron Rale’s wishful thinking, that the inquest would just go away. Poor Daniel - the people in Anna’s life just dismissed him and continue to do so, except when it suits their purposes.
I don’t think there was any one thing that made the inquest happen on this date - it has been continued all along, but things just kept happening to delay it. The last was Tropical Storm Noel on Oct 30. At least they were able to select a jury that day before adjourning to this latest start date of Nov 19.
Wasn’t AH’s last “report” all about the non-existent “bruises” being caused by the very people who said they DIDN’T cause the *real* ABRASIONS on Daniel’s body?
The man obviously can’t read.

Wow, we’re getting famous? What for?
Anyway, Dec 10 is really stretching things out and it’s going to cost some Americans a lot of money to go back and forth. I believe someone speculated that this inquest is adding tourist dollars to the Bahamian treasury.
So far, the testimony has revealed several new things. ANS and HKS were standing at the foot of the bed when the first responder arrived at the scene. Daniel was awake and asking the nurse to let his sister remain in the room at 6:00am(?). The pills found in HKS’ bed were handed to the police and sealed in a bag. We’ve yet to hear from the police about those pills. HKS testified that he took photographs of the dead Daniel and volunteered a reason that was bizarre, thus damage control.
Does anyone want to take a guess at how Daniel got abrasions on his pelvis and shoulder? Being lifted? When? To where?
He died between 6 AM and probably 8:30 AM. How long does it take for a body to turn blue?
I’ve always felt that the pelvic abrasions, left and right, came from *someone* roughly checking the pockets of Daniel’s jeans, shoving their hands in them, looking for something.
That would have had to happen between the time he passed out and when he died, IMO. I think he would have had to have been asleep or passed totally out for it to happen in the first place and he had to still be alive and heart pumping for the scrape marks to show up some blood coloring, the pinkish reddish.
The under arm marks, same type of thing - roughly dragging or lifting him when he was asleep or unconscious, but still alive.
When we later found out about the fact that his jeans disappeared, that kind of told me that they really had been handled, and perhaps like I had imagined. I’m not saying *who* did this, tho.
It’s also possible that someone took his jeans off of him, roughly, by grabbing on the pockets and scraping the skin underneath. What I haven’t figured out is whether he actually had the jeans on when in bed with ANS or not. I’m thinking not.
I’m not so sure we’re going to find out exactly how the marks happened. HKS is going to cover up whatever happened, whether he was messing with Daniel in some way or ANS was.
(After he died and she was allegedly “more impaired” than usual, she wanted to take him home and give him a bath. In her also drug-induced normal stupor, after getting more pain meds in the hospital room, she may have been thinking something simlar - seeing her son after a long time, she may have reverted to thinking of him as a baby, the state of mind she was in from having another newborn to now care for.)
Ok - that explains that “rumor”.....wishful thinking is right.
Well, then, if nothing special triggered the proceeding with the inquest - am glad it has just finally finally finally gotten underway.

Here’s some questions I’d like to see the inquest answer:
was this the first time for Daniel to go the Bahamas to see his mom?
If Howie had separate bedrooms in the Bahamas, why did he agree to move into a second bed in Anna’s room? why the change in behavior from failing to defend anna from Birkhead’s allegations to mocking clown videos to moving in to a hospital room to walking past a fallen-down Anna post-hospital (according to the nannies) and allowing her to go untreated for pneumonia until Anna’s lung collapsed? was this behavior a repeat of April/May 06 hospital-camping control???
how often did Anna have visitors? how did howie treat them/act around them? when did they, or did they, notice any ‘bags’ in the room? Did Anna seem overmedicated at any time? Did Howie seem medicated?
‘a boyfriend’ was in the room the night daniel arrived according to one nurse - who identified this person (GBen) as ‘boyfriend’ to the nurse?
was this ‘boyfriend’ with anna while howie was playing taxi for Daniel? was he there to hear the ‘take the black car’ going for ‘food’ conversation? could it be seen, in a way, that GBen and his family were on great terms with Anna and mistrusted Howie, and maybe he felt he left Anna, in Daniel’s care for the night?
a nurse testified to seeing a ‘white haired man’ in the room at the time she entered in the morning. ‘white-haired man’ a)was called by Howie tocome quick, or b)came the next morning to see Anna, maybe expected to come? in either case, What time was either GBen called or was expected the next morning for a scheduled visit?
Early reports speculated that Daniel might have felt alienated or replaced by Anna’s new baby. Nurses testify that not only did baby stay in the room all nite, but Daniel, himself, protested the baby’s removal to the nursery the next morning. Wouldn’t Daniel’s behavior reflect an instant attachment, bonding, excitement, anticipation, even, joy? Why would a person experiencing these emotions want to take any drugs at all?
If a young son was feeling resentment towards his mother, why was he so obviously attentive towards her and his new sister? Wouldn’t he have just gone back to the horizons to sulk? or not come at all?
When did Howie give Daniel ‘permission’ to visit Anna? Who booked the flights? Who paid for them? How were they paid?
Why did Howie leave any description of Daniel playing with the baby out of his narrative of what happened that night? how many photographs did Howie take of Daniel playing with the baby?
Why wasn’t howie straightforward about leaving the room twice? Why wasn’t howie carrying anything obvious when he returned sometime after 4am?
What transpired between 4am return and 6:20 when the nurse observed Daniel making ‘adjustments’ to his mother’s bed?
Why was howie misleading over what time he slept, if he was up until at least 4am in the morning? (didn’t he say he went to sleep and the *next morning* he woke up?)
why did Howie take pictures of a dead Daniel? why would he say that it was to ‘prove Daniel was dead’ to Anna? how would he have known, beforehand, that Anna would have ‘amnesia’ about that event?
how would he know, Anna would ‘need’ any pictures to ‘convince’ her of anything?
Had the psychiatrist sedated Anna before the pictures were taken or after?
How would Howie know that the psychiatrist would ‘heavily sedate’ Anna? What ‘heavy sedative’ was Anna given? what reactions would that sedative have with any unknown drugs in Anna at the time? (i.e., if anna was ‘on methadone’ unbeknownst to the hospital staff at the time of heavy ‘sedation,’ would that sedative have reacted with any methadone in her system and what would those effects be?)
Did howie advise the psychiatrist of any medications that Anna had taken without medical staff knowledge (black bag drugs) that would interact with any about-to-be-given ‘heavy sedation’? Why not?
Where was HKS When the nurse noticed Daniel ‘adjusting’ his mothers’ bed?
when was howie’s black bag (that he told GBen the morning of Daniel’s death to ‘guard with his life’) brought into the room?
why would Vicki ask the nurse for a ‘pain med’, if she was aware Howie had his black bag handy? Couldn’t she have just ‘helped herself’ when howie and daniel left her alone in the room and unobserved?
why would Daniel ask howie “why”, if Daniel had ‘snuck into’ the black bag himself somehow? if Daniel ‘snuck into’ the bag while everyone was ‘sleeping’ why would howie recollect that Daniel asked ‘why’ if howie was ‘sleeping’?
Did the police want to know what was in the bags in the room? GBen states Howie told him to guard three bags ‘with his life’. What was in the other two bags? What did howie say to prevent the police from searching the bags? Where were the bags when Howie allegedly told GBen to ‘guard them’? In plain sight? in the hospital room closet?
why did howie have drugs under the mattress in the bedroom of the home and not all together in his black bag? Why did howie involve GBen/Shelley in the ‘secret’ of drugs under the mattress?
why weren’t the medications all kept in a locked medication cabinet, say, in the kitchen, like most homes? why was a black bag even needed?
why were abrasions on Daniel’s body?
why did howie take Daniel’s jeans back to horizons (according to both GBen and Ford Shelley) to allegedly shake pills out of them?
Why would howie think that feces in pants would be ‘embarassing’ to Daniel’s memory? Wasn’t howie aware that all deceased evacuate their bladder and bowels at death and it’s not an ‘embarassment’ to a deceased person, since that person is, after all, deceased?
why did howie draw attention to his flushing of a toilet with a comment to others about taking care of a problem?
why didn’t HKS crumple down in a fetal position for Daniel’s death like he did for Anna’s death and hand the camera over? wasn’t Daniel ‘best friends’, and ‘like a son’ according to sister, Bonnie?
why did Howie need photographs to compare with morgue photographs to ‘make sure’ (imo) it was Daniel? was howie alluding that the bahamas officials were into body-switching?
why was howie so emotional on the stand, when he allegedly had spent months preventing Daniel from calling or visiting his mother?
Why was a fake gravestone ordered for Daniel? when was it ordered? who ordered it? who picked the fake name?
Why hasn’t a ‘temporary’ gravestone been ordered for anna and Daniel’s grave, while waiting for the elusive ‘perfect pink marble’ slab?
was the move to the Bahamas, in hindsight, a case of venue-shopping for Anna’s pregnancy, or venue-shopping for Howie’s future defense?
the last time I took a flight with jeans on, they had stretched out from their ‘out of the dryer’ tightness and were pretty loose after a 12-hr trip involving a lot of sitting, walking thru terminals, bending stretching and sitting again, so i’m just not seeing that the scratches would come from simply rummaging thru pockets unless someone was exceptionally ‘rough’. from the few pics i’ve seen of daniel, he wasn’t a ‘tight’ jeans wearer. iirc college kids are more into the ‘relaxed fit’ style - just a guess, tho since we don’t know yet what brand of jeans he was wearing and their ‘stretchability’.
