Hmmm...Ann is just one more who have come to the truth about this blowhard
(Excerpt) Read more at youtube.com ...
The statements you falsely attributed to me seems a desperate tactic even for a Thompson supporter.
Funny that you took it as being critical of Fred that he had thoughts of the White House before this year. Even stranger that you feel it's complimentary to Fred to imagine that he woke up one morning this year and had his first ever thought about running for the presidency.
Uhh, you were the one that intimated that I was “selling a bridge” when I said that the episode was filmed many, many moons before he decided he was going to run for Pres. You would prefer a candidate that has been running for Pres since 8th grade??? Answer a question for a change instead of being snarky.
You seem to ask questions that are based on statements that you falsely attributed to me. I feel pretty certain that every two term Senator has had some presidential aspirations. I guess that you disagree with that or believe that Thompson is the exception.
If Thompson woke up one morning in the last year and was overcome with a burning desire to become POTUS in 2008, what is it that is stoking this burning desire now if he's never desired the job previously?
He's said in several interviews, his 2 very young children. And the future of the country and this world that will be left to them. I'm sure he's not the first father who has felt the need to make the world a better place for his children. You seem to not be all that informed about Fred and his views and beliefs. Might I suggest that you do some research before opposing him.
When will you Duncanphytes realize that he is out of it? Y’all have already ticked off half of FR with your attacks on other candidates. Get behind someone who has a chance.
If that's not pablum then nothing is pablum. What specific actions and policies will Fred put in place that will brighten the future of the USA? Surely he must have some in mind if he had a sudden epiphany this year that he needs to be the next President.
We have just begun to fight
Thompson has a good chance of winning
julie annie is a pretty good bet
I don’t know, maybe he had a vision of Hillary as Pres for the next 8 years and that scared the bejesus out of him. I know it does me. If he did nothing, nothing, for 8 years, the US would be 100 times better off. And his guiding principles are “Federalism” and a return to the constraints that the Constitution puts on the federal government.
I'm almost done with her latest book. (It came finally in the mail yesterday.)
I think that she mentioned you in it.
I doubt that you have read any of her books, or even that your political beliefs are in accord with most FReepers after that comment.
Ann rules.
Why have you concluded that Fred has the best chance to defeat Hillary?
Dobson had good points.
Dobson doesn’t want to do what Hannity is doing. Of course, you’d probably praise Hannity if he were to endorse Fred. Dobson is correct that Fred is no better than Giuliani.
I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t know why you are thinking I would praise Hannity for anything. You certainly haven’t been here long enough to have evaluated my relatively infrequent posts to determine I’m a Hannity schill (or Fred schill, whatever it is your suggesting).
For the record, I don’t have a favorite in the primary. And I’ll support any republican candidate (even McCain) in the general. Dobson has come off as an ass, to say he has good points doesn’t change that.
Blowhard: a very boastful talkative person.
I agree with most of Ann's political views but there's no denying she's boastful and talkative. In 1998 she told the Washington Post: "You want to be careful not to become just a blowhard." I don't think she was successful. She has been successful in making a lot of money being outrageously pugnacious.
If you like Coulter's style, fine. If you're hung up on her looks, it's OK with me. However, I feel no compulsion to agree with everything she says, or does. Hanging out with ultra liberals and dissing good conservatives does not make her a star in my book. She's rude and crude even when she's right. If you like her "ruling" you, OK. Not me. BTW, I'm not the only FReeper who feels this way.
Is There NO Republican candidate in Anns eyes that could successfully challenge Herself, the Cold and Joyless?
The whole bench is now out there, and while some of them were always decidedly rather feeble contenders, I had thought that SOME of them could have been treated a little more kindly.
The option of moving out of the US is not particularly appealing, as there are very few possible refuges still remaining. And it seems to be futile to remain here and try to reform this country from the inside, if this is all the encouragement we get.
I think that Gulianni has to many negatives and alot of conservatives will stay home...Romney campaigns as a conservative but his record as a Gov. leaves some room for error. Hunter and Tanc...I support them, I’ve sent them some campaign contributions but they just don’t seem to be connecting with the masses.
I think Fred can win the support of the conservatives AND pull in alot of the Independants, not to mention the Dems who want a president Hillaryas much as we do. The folks who have voted ‘D’ in the past (I would call them ‘moderates’ they are no where near the Move-On types)that I work with say that they are actually looking at Fred as well. I guess they could have been Reagan-Democrats in the past.
I think Fred can do alot to unite this country, that’s why I posted what I posted.
Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin are disappointed in Fred Thompson’s senate record. I think Thompson won his senate campaign in Tennessee with a conservative platform, so he could have been more conservative than he was.
How do you explain campaign finance reform (it was almost called McCain-Feingold-Thompson) and his involvement with the Council on Foreign Relations?
Romney represented a state that has a higher percentage of liberals than conservatives. When he campaigned in MA, he must have promised them that he would keep their abortion policies as the status quo. It’s tougher to be a conservative in a more liberal state compared to a more conservative state, in which Tennessee tends to be.
I find it really tough to support any of the “front-runners.”
The only candidates I trust to actually do something about illegal alien invasions are Hunter and Tancredo. Of the two, I consider Hunter to be the better candidate.
I heard Fred being interviewed and he admitted that there were parts of the “McCain-Feingold” that he said hadn’t worked out the way that they had intended and if it was up to him they would change.
