He's said in several interviews, his 2 very young children. And the future of the country and this world that will be left to them. I'm sure he's not the first father who has felt the need to make the world a better place for his children.

If that's not pablum then nothing is pablum. What specific actions and policies will Fred put in place that will brighten the future of the USA? Surely he must have some in mind if he had a sudden epiphany this year that he needs to be the next President.

I don’t know, maybe he had a vision of Hillary as Pres for the next 8 years and that scared the bejesus out of him. I know it does me. If he did nothing, nothing, for 8 years, the US would be 100 times better off. And his guiding principles are “Federalism” and a return to the constraints that the Constitution puts on the federal government.
