Madonna, the Beastie Boys, the Dave Clark Five, Leonard Cohen, Afrika Bambaataa, John Mellencamp, the Ventures, Donna Summer and Chic have been nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year. Five acts will make it into the Hall of Fame in 2008.

:) One of my favorites songs of all time. Lots of people sing it. Bette Midler has a cover of it, as well as Aaron Neville. I had never heard of the singer in the YOU TUBE video, but she did a great job.

Thanks MM, for posting the pictures! I enjoyed seeing them again! :)

Sucked, sucked, not my cup of tea, sucked, sucked, sucked, sucked, sucked, and sucked.
Do Madonna and Mellencamp belong there if guys like Percy Sledge can on the strength of ONE hit song ("When a Man Loves a Woman")? Yeah. But I don't like 'em. Nyaah.
Isn’t Bruce a pilot now for a Scottish airline? Maybe he can give you a lift when they go to their overseas leg of the tour...
That was a great show indeed.
He flies for Astraeus Airlines part-time. They’re going to be using a 757 for the entire tour, Bruce is going to be flying it.
They also do ‘Bruce Air Flight 666’ to a couple of countries.
And thanks for the link to the pics (especially to the one where he's standing with the oh-so-pretty Chuck Garric -- but I really respect him for his bass playing... ;-)
This year, Alice only came to Florida with the Heaven and Hell tour, so I had to sit through Queensryche (not a bad band, just not one I care about really) just to see a compressed show. At least he sang the Ballad of Dwight Frye, so I was happy.
He ended with Elected, which was awesome, and demanded the crowd to "Stand for this!" while he was waving the American flag. Pretty great show, and inspiring.
Oh, what a sickening list. Madonna in the RRHF?
But I’m okay with having “Intergalactic” in my head the rest of the day... :-)
I myself love “Sabotage”.
Lainie, what are you going to do with yourself on Sunday evenings now that Drudge Radio is sayonara?
I feel pretty lost, I have to say.
Maybe if we start begging, Matt will reconsider — to shut us up?
I agree. “Lost” is the right word.
I wrote Matt an e-mail last week telling him that he will be missed on-air. I even cried last Sunday as I was listening to the final broadcast. I’ll try Bill Cunningham tonight and see how it goes.
Heh. I didn’t cry during the broadcast, but I teared up watching a TV show later that night. (Very uncharacteristic for me.)
I have KFI on, waiting to hear the top of the hour. Did you see that Monet picture on the website? It’s awful.
Maybe I should have posted a thread anyway. ‘Not Drudge Radio....October 7, 2007.’
HA! Maybe you should post the Non-Drudge Thread...
That way we can all diss or not diss on Cunningham...
Th Monet portrait vandalism is a heartbreak...
Well, at least Cunningham’s first guest live is Sean Hannity and they are both PRAISING Matt Drudge...
I can’t even hear, because Batchelor is live on KFI Los Angeles. The network’s all disjointed.. weird.
Yes, Batchelor is on here from 7-10 p.m. ET.
So far Cunningham has been ‘okay’... but nothing to write home about... so, I’m going to bed...
Goodnight, Lainie... hope to catch up with you soon!
Good night. Glad to have run into you!
you give some great examples of who is not in.
at least rolling stone ragazine had the good sense to vote crazy horse the best backup band of the 70’s.
