[ Please note, I'm posting this as a commentary on our increasingly decadent culture and the either impossible or undesirable goals it sets for our young women. ]
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) -- Somewhere, Kevin Federline is laughing. An out-of-shape, out-of-touch Britney Spears delivered what was destined to be the most talked-about performance of the MTV Video Music Awards -- but for all the wrong reasons....
She walked through her dance moves with little enthusiasm. It appeared she had forgotten the entire art of lip-synching. And, perhaps most unforgivable given her once-taut frame, she looked embarrassingly out of shape....

Exactly!!
(I'm surprised that we've gotten to comment #20 without a single "I'd hit it". Shh-h-h, let's see how long we can go...)
Britney’s job is to look good and to dance well, therefore she has to be in better shape than the average mother of two. Her weight is not so much the problem, she just needs to work out and get tighter. If she just wants to look like the average mother of two than she needs to put some clothes on.

Here she looks great with a classy dress on. Since she weighs more, it shows off her curves in a good way, and shows off her muscular healthy back and arms.
Salacious ping worthy?
Good post.. it reminds me I got a maxim magazine and flipped through to see the sections with their sexiest women list. But all of the women had no hips whatsoever. They looked like teenage boy hips. And for breasts they had plastic, because of their low body fat. Their faces I will admit were quite attractive, sexy.. but overall did nothing for me.
You're right, she looks great in that dress, and it's perfectly demure.
I'm grossed out by the paparazzi, though. Geez, guys, leave the girl alone!
I see London, I see France, I see Paris' [Hilton]... oh never mind.
When was the last time MTV *didn’t* suck? Circa 1990 maybe? Used to like some of the shows back when they actually played music videos. I remember watching “120 Minutes” and so on... Too bad all the crappy reality shows, starting with “The Real World” really flushed this network down the crapper.
Yeah, I guess I did.
(But truth to tell, Clinton is wrong there. She's plenty pretty... front's fine. Not that I'll ever get that chance, of course...)
Considering Britney was one of the many tartlets in micro-minis and no undergarments who got out of autos like a cowboy throwing his leg over a horse, this outfit is a step up.
We may have been the impact of that culture with the weekend's story involving the Vanessa Hudgens girl from Disney's "High School Musical" having taken her own nude photos *while underage* in an effort to entice the interest of some actor on Nickelodeon who wasn't a boyfriend.
I suspect those photos leaked because she recently claimed to be a good role model by having kept her clothes on.
Sorry, I wouldn’t hit it. Except maybe with a Louisville Slugger.
yep,, a billion people have seen her hoochie coo on the internet so there is nothing that she can do from here on out that is going to grab anyone’s attention
plus she’s got no talent to go with that
The comment is that she isn’t sufficiently toned to be performing in that outfit. It’s clearly enough in online video of the performance. I imagine on HD it would be painfully clear.
True. And that's a scary thought.
Ouch. To each, their own...
That's ridiculous. It's up to the "healthy heterosexual male" to shape what's attractive along with women as they buy their own clothing.
Who the %$#@!are the creeps that chase around stars, photographing and videotaping their every move, asking “how are you today, how is the car”, and shouting “Your hair looks faaabulous”? Is it any wonder that this early-20s multimillionaire is so out of touch with reality? She literally has no idea what “normal” is.
And who would want their child to be a “star” if that is what being a “star” represents? Our culture has gone into the toilet if this represents entertainment.
Sad commentary, that.
I heard a rude comment, after that, that the real reason she later shaved her head was so that for once, the curtains would match the carpet....
